Nicholas McGegan Guest Conduct Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra In His First Appearance In 30 Years

Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO), celebrates the return of guest conductor Nicholas McGegan, a?oeone of the finest baroque conductors of his generationa?? (The Independent), and Jeremy Denk, a?oea pianist you want to hear no matter what he performsa?? (The New York Times), on a program featuring Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 19 on October 26, 8 pm, at the Alex Theatre, and Sunday, October 27, 2019, 7 pm, at Royce Hall. McGegan, who last appeared with LACO in 1989, 30 years ago, also conducts Schubert's Symphony No. 6 in C Major, a masterpiece of harmonic variation, as well as the overture from his opera, Der Häusliche Krieg, and music from Rameau's opera, Dardanus.

Orchestra Of St. Luke's Kicks Off Annual Carnegie Hall Series, October 17

In his second season as principal conductor, Bernard Labadie leads Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL) in its 33rd concert series in Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. The series begins with Italian pianist Beatrice Rana joining OSL for two Bach keyboard concertos on Thursday, October 17 at 8:00 p.m. The program is bookended by two works by Mendelssohn: The Hebrides Overture and a?oeScottisha?? Symphony.

Edinburgh International Festival Opens 2 August

The Edinburgh International Festival launches this week for its 73rd edition, bringing the best of theatre, music and dance from across the world to Scotland's capital. The Festival will once again be a meeting place for the world's creatives as 2,800 artists arrive from 41 countries including Australia, Nigeria, Canada, Belgium, China, Mali, Holland, South Africa, France, Germany and India as well as 800 artists from Scotland. The International Festival programme features 155 events, with 293 performances, attracting audiences from 80 countries to see the world's greatest performing arts festival.

August 2019 Events Announced At Lincoln Center

Orchestra of St. Luke's (OSL) announced details of its 2019–2020 season—the Orchestra's 45th—including a season-wide celebration of Beethoven's 250th birthday in programs on its signature Chamber Music Series, orchestra concerts presented by Carnegie Hall, and free school concerts.

Bell-Isserlis-Denk Trio Comes to The Soraya

Hailed as a dream team of performers, longtime musical collaborators and friends, violinist Joshua Bell, cellist Steven Isserlis and pianist Jeremy Denk, will unite this spring 2019 for their first-ever trio tour stoping at The Soraya on May 8. The three artists will perform hallmarks of the trio repertoire in acclaimed venues across the East and West coasts. Though Bell, Isserlis and Denk have previously released the landmark 2016 recording For the Love of Brahms together on Sony Classical, these performances mark the first occasions in which they will tour live as an ensemble. The Brahms album has been praised as Absolutely essential listening for the classical fan well-crafted, flawless killer stuff.

The TSO Announces May Lineup

The month of May at the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) is an ode to the genius of some of the greatest composers of all time, and some of today's most brilliant pianists. An all-Mozart program features revered American pianist Jeremy Denk, and celebrated Canadian piano virtuoso Louis Lortie joins the TSO for two different programs. Not-to-be-missed concerts include Beethoven Symphony 5, Mahler Symphony 7, and Pines of Rome.

Daniel Kellogg Named New President Of Young Concert Artists

It has been announced that Daniel Kellogg will become the President of Young Concert Artists, effective July 1, 2019. This follows the incredible 58-year-tenure of Founder and current Director, Susan Wadsworth, who will continue as Creative Consultant through 2020-2021 helping to plan the 60th Anniversary of Young Concert Artists.
