PEN America Cancels PEN WORLD VOICES FESTIVAL

PEN America, joining the ranks of cultural institutions and festivals changing their plans to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, has cancelled the 2020 PEN World Voices Festival: These Truths, this year's edition of the United States' foremost international literary festival, which was slated to take place May 4-9 in venues across New York City.

NETFLIX IS A JOKE FEST Heads to Los Angeles This April

Netflix Is A Joke, Netflix's comedy brand, is throwing a week-long comedy festival, Netflix Is A Joke Fest. Produced by Netflix in association with Live Nation, the star-studded celebration of comedy will take over Los Angeles April 27th - May 3rd and feature live stand-up shows, special events and activations with Netflix comedians and artists from around the world. Featured Netflix talent include Ali Wong, Amy Schumer, Bill Burr, Dave Chappelle, David Letterman, Jamie Foxx, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, Kevin Hart, Martin Lawrence, Sebastian Maniscalco, the cast of Schitt's Creek and more. The fest will also include STAND OUT: An LGBTQ+ Celebration  with headliners Alan Carr, Hannah Gadsby, Margaret Cho, Rosie O'Donnell, Sandra Bernhard, Wanda Sykes and more.

PEN America will present the 2020 PEN World Voices Festival: These Truths, celebrating literature's deep illumination of cultural, historical, political, and emotional truths in a complex moment when 'truth' is destabilized by the constant undermining of a common set of facts, 'objective' histories are being interrogated and upended, and radical candor about lived experiences is fueling powerful social movements. Today, PEN America announced highlights of the festival, which brings together fiction and nonfiction writers, poets, translators, thinkers, and activists for an array of conversations, interviews, readings, and musical performances on this infinitely prismatic subject.

Comedian Dulcé Sloan Is Heading to The Second City's UP Comedy Club Stage

Comedy Central's vibrant voice Dulcé Sloan will grab the mic for three nights of stand-up at The Second City's UP Comedy Club January 3-5. The show will be hosted by three-time Second City NBCUniversal Break Out Comedy Festival performer Alex Kumin and will feature another Comedy Central face, Dave Helem.

Largest Comedy Festival In America Adds 100+ Shows

Today the New York Comedy Festival (NYCF) announced the addition of more than 100 shows to the 2019 week-long laugh fest. The festival, which runs from November 4th-10th, will be taking place at some of New York City's most iconic venues, including the Beacon Theatre, Carnegie Hall, Carolines on Broadway, Madison Square Garden, Town Hall, and the Tribeca Performing Arts Center among others.

Boston Calling Shares New Details About Arena Stage

Boston Calling, celebrating its 10th edition this year on Memorial Day Weekend, May 24 - 26, and headlined by Twenty One Pilots (Friday), Tame Impala (Saturday), and Travis Scott (Sunday), reveals more exciting details about the bevy of artists set to take over the festival's Arena stage. Fans will be treated to one-of-a-kind performances from Boston Ballet, one of the most iconic dance companies in the world. In addition, all-star comedians Fred Armisen, Jenny Slate, and Michael Chewill headline the Arena stage.
