Paper Mill Playhouse will open its 2015-2016 season with the world premiere musical The Bandstand. As previously announced, Tony Award nominee Laura Osnes (Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella, Bonnie and Clyde), Corey Cott (Newsies, Gigi) and Tony Award winner Beth Leavel (The Drowsy Chaperone, 42nd Street) will star in The Bandstand.
Last week Jeff Pew took fans behind the scenes at the Broadway-Bound musical, THE FIRST WIVES CLUB, which recently closed at Chicago's Oriental Theatre. Pew, who was last seen on Broadway as the understudy for Prince Topher in RODGERS + HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA took Instagram followers on a hilarious backstage tour with special cameos from the FIRST WIVES CLUB cast, including special apperances from the show's stars Carmen Cusack and Tony-winner Faith Prince.
Jeff Pew is currently performing in RODGERS AND HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA on Broadway as a member of the Ensemble and an understudy for Prince Topher. In 2015, he will join the cast of the new musical FIRST WIVES CLUB as it heads to Chicago for its pre-Broadway run. As a pianist, Jeff works consistently as an accompanist for American Ballet Theatre and Mark Morris Dance Group. He also has his own YouTube channel with his best friend Luke Hawkins, aptly called 'The Luke and Jeff Show,' which highlights their piano-playing, tap-dancing adventures. He is from San Jose, CA and holds a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre from BYU.
Christmas came early for the staff of MSNBC's "Way Too Early" and "Morning Joe" when popular morning show anchor Thomas Roberts hosted a holiday party in Hell's Kitchen. Thomas, Mika Brzezinski, and a room full of holiday revelers from the network enjoyed a special performance by students and teaching artists from the Broadway Dreams Foundation, including Noah Ricketts (Beautiful - The Carole King Musical), Dan Tracy, Luke Hawkins (West Side Story), Jeff Pew (Cinderella), and Isabelle ("American Idol").

On June 16, The Ensemblist, the only podcast that shows you Broadway from the inside out, celebrated its first anniversary with a live show at the legendary Birdland Jazz Club. The audio from the live show is now available free to download at theensemblist.com, as well as on iTunes, Stitcher and TuneIn.
Patrick Hinds, host of Theater People Podcast, recently told me that he considers The Ensemblist to be the Radio Lab of theatre podcasts. For podcast aficionados, that is extremely high (and well-deserved) praise. Nikka Graff Lanzarone (WOMEN ON THE VERGE OF A NERVOUS BREAKDOWN, CHICAGO) and Mo Brady (THE ADDAMS FAMILY, SMASH) are two Broadway vets that have been giving listeners a look at Broadway 'from the inside out' for over a year. Next week, they are having a party to celebrate, and you're invited.
