The RRazz Room New Hope Opens It's Spring 2018 Cabaret Season With Maureen McGovern

Maureen McGovern is celebrating the 45th Anniversary of her theme song, "The Morning After," which won the Oscar for Best Song of the Year in 1973, and became an international Gold Record and garnered her a Grammy Nomination for Best New Artist.  Along with musical director/pianist Jeff Harris, Ms. McGovern will perform some of her most beloved hits, including "Can You Read My Mind?," "We May Never Love Like This Again," and of course, "The Morning After," along with many other Oscar-winning and classic film songs.

Sonoran Desert Chorale Announces To Everything There Is A Season

The Sonoran Desert Chorale announces the first concert of their 24th season. The concert, titled To Everything There Is a Season, reflects the gifts of all the seasons of life.  Pete Seeger's immortal folk ballad, Turn, Turn, Turn is the perfect framework for this first concert. It brings audiences the works of contemporary composers like Ola Gjeilo, Jake Runestad, and Kim Andre Arneson whose music contemplates loss and life's storms as well as evoking moments of joy and peace.   Performances of To Everything There Is a Season will take place Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 7:30 P.M. at First United Methodist Church, 15 E. First Avenue, Mesa and Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 3:00 P.M. at La Casa De Cristo Lutheran Church, 6300 E. Bell Road, Scottsdale.  Season and single performance tickets are now on sale.

Sonoran Desert Chorale Announces 2017-18 Season

The Sonoran Desert Chorale has announced its 24th season, opening in the fall of 2017.  Comprised of four distinct concerts which will focus on the gifts that all the seasons of life bring to us, the Chorale is led by Music Director Jeff Harris, a long-time Mesa resident, music educator and choral director.  The 60 members of the Chorale come from all parts of the Valley and walks of life joined by one common purpose - their love of music and singing together.

A shared commitment to the power of the arts will be celebrated on Sat., June 3, 2017, at the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts (Wilson Center), as Greater Milwaukee philanthropic leaders Claire and Glen Hackmann are honored with the 13th annual EDDY Award. The presentation will take place at The Big Event, which serves as the major channel through which the Wilson Center raises funds for its arts education programs that impact the lives of more than 9,000 students from Southeast Wisconsin each year.

As the Chorale prepares for their sixth European tour in June, they share with audiences at home the wonderful music that will be presented in concert abroad.  The music of Irish, English, Welsh, Scottish, and American composers and folk songs comprise the repertoire.  Well-loved pieces such as How Can I Keep From Singing and O Danny Boy are included, along with several energetic spirituals and anthems that will fill cathedral spaces.

A wonderful premiere is in store for Arizona music lovers as the Sonoran Desert Chorale presents A Celtic Journey - stories of the Celtic peoples of Ireland, Scotland, and Wales and their heritage in America.  Just in time for St. Patrick's Day, the concert features nearly 60 voices of the Chorale and the Irish Band Trotter's Wake  to tell stories through music and narration. Composer Ben Allaway, an Irish American, tells stories of seven generations of Allaways as well as other families' stories, creating a  transatlantic epic tale of lives and loves lived in the Isles and of loved ones leaving the old country for a new life in America.
