Review: AN EVENING WITH MAUREEN MCGOVERN at The RRazz Room At The Prince

On Sunday, January 15, 2017 a captivated Philadelphia audience at the RRAZZ ROOM at the Prince Theater experienced the inimitable Maureen McGovern and her longtime arranger, composer and accompanist, Jeff Harris.

Ms McGovern, whose career spans more than forty-five years and two solo Grammy nominations, offered an eclectic program that led with "If I Knew You Were Coming" and segued into her number one hit signature, "The Morning After."

The musical journey continued with sprinklings including George and Ira Gershwin, Pete Seeger, Carole King and a so-quiet-you-could-hear-a-pin drop a capella, sans microphone rendition of Harold Arlen's "Over the Rainbow."

Celebrating their newest album release, "You Raise Me Up", Ms McGovern and Mr Harris also tipped their hats to Dr Martin Luther King, Jr with a beautiful rendition of "We Shall Overcome," which is featured in the video link below.
