On Monday, April 22, 2019 at 7 pm, ALL ARTS, a new 24/7 arts and culture broadcast channel and streaming platform from WNET, will film a special performance of Jeff Cohen's The Soap Myth.

After the record breaking success of WAM Theatre's fall 2018 production of ANN by Holland Taylor, WAM is thrilled to announce that Arena Stage in Washington, DC, and Dallas Theatre Center are presenting a new co-production of ANN in July and October of this year. WAM's Artistic Director, Kristen van Ginhoven, will again direct the production, and Jayne Atkinson returns to star in the title role.

2017 Regional Theatre Tony Award recipient Dallas Theater Center announces titles for the 2019-2020 season, including In the Heights,  Lin-Manuel Miranda's family-favorite musical; ANN, a no-holds-barred portrait of Ann Richards, the legendary governor of Texas; Little Women, a celebrated new adaptation by Kate Hamill of the beloved classic book; American Mariachi, the feel-good comedy filled with infectious music; Pipeline, a powerful drama about the state of American education; and The Supreme Leader, a world premiere fictionalized coming-of-age comedy about Kim Jong-Un. Productions will take place at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre at the AT&T Performing Arts Center and at the Kalita Humphreys Theater. The Broadway Stage Management Symposium (BSMS) is back for it's fifth year of sharing insights and information about stage management and Broadway. The BSMS brings together the most experienced and highly-regarded Stage Management professionals on Broadway for an immersive two-day program that offers practical insights, instruction, and inspiration for anyone interested in stage management.

Every year, WAM Theatre donates a portion of the box office proceeds from their fall Main Stage production to agencies that benefit women and girls locally, nationally, or internationally. The success of ANN enabled the company to present their largest donation ever - $15,000 split evenly between its 14th and 15th beneficiaries, The Denise Kaley Fund and the Women's Fund of Western Massachusetts' 2018 Leadership Institute for Political and Public Impact (LIPPI). Each organization will receive $7,500.

Dorset Theatre Festival, under the leadership of Artistic Director Dina Janis, closed its 41st Festival Season at the beginning of September with a sold-out special engagement of Holland Taylor's play ANN at the Dorset Playhouse. As part of the closing weekend, Dorset presented a special post-show panel discussion featuring local female politicians and hosted the third annual Women Artists Writing Group retreat.

Dorset Theatre Festival presents Holland Taylor's ANN, directed by Kristen van Ginhoven. Two-time Tony nominee JAYNE ATKINSON ("House of Cards," "Madam Secretary") will play Ann Richards, the former Governor of Texas known for a personality as large as the state from which she hailed. The play also features Tony Award-Winner JULIE WHITE (The Little Dog Laughed) as the voice of Ann Richards' assistant, Nancy Kohler.

Golden Globe winner and Emmy Award nominee Robin Wright returns as President of the United States in the sixth and final season of the award-winning landmark series House of Cards.  The sixth season premiere is November 2nd.

Dorset Theatre Festival, now in its 41st season, announced today the return of its popular PlayTalks, a series of guest speakers who are experts in their field intended to engage and inform regional audiences in rich and varied ways. The first PlayTalk of the season will take place at the Northshire Bookstore (4869 Main Street, Manchester Center, VT) on August 18 at 6:00 P.M. The event is free and open to the public. Bennington College professor of literature Brooke Allen will give the talk, entitled "The Ever-Modern Jane Austen."

It was a picture perfect Berkshire evening on Wednesday, July 25, as WAM Theatre supporters packed the bucolic grounds of the Berkshire Equestrian Center in Richmond. They celebrated and supported the company's ninth season at WAM's sold-out Midsummer Cocktail Party Benefit, hosted by Berkshire favorite Ty Allan Jackson.

The rolling fields of the Berkshire Equestrian Center Richmond, MA, will create the perfect backdrop for WAM Theatre's annual Midsummer Cocktail Party Benefit on Wednesday, July 25, at 5:30pm. A few tickets are still available at all three levels of support - $75 for Allies, $150 for Advocates, and $250 for Activists.
