Dorset Theatre Festival Announces Lineup and Casting For Pipeline Series, Featuring Estelle Parsons & Treat Williams

Dorset Theatre Festival, under the leadership of Artistic Director Dina Janis, Producing Director Will Rucker, and Executive Director Marissa Hutton, is proud to announce the full lineup and casting for their inaugural Pipeline Series-four one-night-only presentations. All presentations will take place at the Dorset Playhouse (104 Cheney Rd, Dorset, VT 05251).

Dorset Theatre Festival builds upon its growing reputation as an incubator of new work with the Pipeline Series-a cutting edge series of four presentations of works destined to become tomorrow's classics. The schedule for the presentations is as follows:

Is Edward Snowden Single?

Diana is the new president of a prestigious liberal arts college, but she can barely get her pictures hung on the walls of her office before the school's hallowed history sits squarely in the way of her big plans. About where we've come from and figuring out where we even have to go, this never-before-seen new play by Melissa Ross confronts life and politics and feminism in academia under the hard-fluorescent light of today.

Tonight though, he drinks wine, cuts up with his crew on the bass, talks love, Hitler, racism, and politics with a twenty-something Jewish documentary filmmaker. This while his five-year old bi-racial daughter plays in piles of treasure and junk absorbing it all.

The Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Glengarry Glen Ross and Speed-The-Plow, takes us into the lives of two actors: John, young and rising into the first flush of his success; the other Robert, older, anxious, and beginning to wane. In a series of short, spare, and increasingly raw exchanges, we see the estrangement of youth from age and the wider, inevitable and endless cycle of life, in and out of the theatre.

The 41st Season will begin with CRY IT OUT, written by Molly Smith Metzler, directed by Marc Masterson, and running June 21-July 14; followed by SKELETON CREW written by Dominique Morisseau and directed by Jade King Carroll, running from Thursday, July 19 through Saturday, August 4. The season will continue with PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, adapted by Kate Hamill from the novel by Jane Austen, directed by Christopher V. Edwards, from Thursday, August 9-Saturday August 25. The season will conclude with ANN by award-winning actress and writer Holland Taylor, performed by two-time Tony nominee Jayne Atkinson ("House of Cards," "Madam Secretary"). Directed by Kristen Van Ginhoven, performances of ANN begin Wednesday August 29 for a run through Saturday September 1. ANN is a co-production with WAM Theatre.
