Netflix and UN Women Launch Special Collection Curated By 55 Groundbreaking Women In Entertainment 

Netflix and UN Women today launched “Because She Watched” - a special Netflix collection of series, documentaries, and films to celebrate International Women's Day. The collection, which will be available all year, is curated by female creators from behind and in front of the camera - including Sophia Loren, Janet Mock, Salma Hayek, Yalitza Aparicio, Millie Bobby Brown, Laurie Nunn, Lana Condor, Petra Costa and Ava DuVernay. 

Janet Mock & Ryan Murphy Will Collaborate on JANET

Deadline reports that Janet Mock, who writes, directs, and produces 'Pose,' will partner with Ryan Murphy to produce 'Janet.' The film is a profille of Washington Post journalist Janet Cooke.

Judith Light to be Honored With The Excellence In Media Award at the GLAAD Media Awards

GLAAD, the world's largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization, today announced that it will honor award-winning actress, producer, and activist Judith Light with the Excellence in Media Award at the 31st Annual GLAAD Media Awards in New York. GLAAD also announced that Lilly Singh, openly bisexual executive producer and host of NBC's a?oeA Little Late with Lilly Singh,a?? will serve as host of the Awards, which will take place at the Hilton Midtown in New York on Thursday, March 19. GLAAD previously announced that Ryan Murphy will receive the Vito Russo Award at the New York ceremony.

Reese Witherspoon, Kerry Washington, John Legend & More Honored at Women in Entertainment Gala

The Hollywood Reporter (THR) hosted its 28th annual Women in Entertainment breakfast gala presented by Lifetime today, honoring Reese Witherspoon with the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award and Ronan Farrow with the Equity in Entertainment Award. This year's honorees were joined by best-selling author, entrepreneur and political activist Stacey Abrams, who delivered the keynote speech. The event – held at MILK Studios in Los Angeles – coincided with the publication of THR's annual Power 100 Women in Entertainment issue, guest edited by Olivia Wilde.

Cherry Lane Announces its Mentor Project Line Up

To celebrate the Mentor Project's 22nd Season, Cherry Lane Theatre (Angelina Fiordellisi, Executive Director; Seri Lawrence, Artistic Director) has announced a workshop presentation by poet/ performer Shawn Randall of his original work (The Making Of) How to Save the World in 90 Minutes. He will be mentored by Diana Oh ({my lingerie play}) in the StudioTheatre, March 4 -14, 2020. Cherry Lane then continues its season in partnership with J.A.G. Productions for the rolling World Premiere of Esai's Table by Nathan Yungerberg, originally produced in workshop format by Mentor Project in 2017. Billy Porter Owes His POSE Emmy to Janet Mock
