Gabrielle Stravelli Releases New Single 'Dream Dancing'

GABRIELLE STRAVELLI - the celebrated pop/jazz vocalist and songwriter called an "outstanding singer" by The Wall Street Journal and "hotter than the equator" by The Village Voice - has released the new single that is currently available on iTunes here, a passionate reworking of the Cole Porter classic "Dream Dancing." The track, a selection from her upcoming album If Only Love, has an arrangement by Pat O'Leary and features Art Hirahara on piano, Pat O'Leary on bass and Eric Halvorson on drums. "Dream Dancing" is produced by David Cook (Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson, Marianne Faithfull) with cover photography by Shervin Lainez (St. Vincent, Cat Power, Ellie Goulding).

16 Usdan Students Win 'Embracing Our Differences' Competition

Sixteen visual arts students from Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts have been selected as prizewinners in the 2015 Embracing Our Differences competition, sponsored by the Suffolk Center on the Holocaust, Diversity and Human Understanding, Inc.   The winning works will be exhibited from October 28 to November 8 at the South Ocean Middle School, 225 South Ocean Avenue in Patchogue, Long Island.

Maclean - hailed as "infectious and hypnotic" by BuzzFeed - discusses his new EP Thought I'd Cry For You Forever, his role in Baz Luhrmann's film The Great Gatsby, his upcoming album with RuPaul's producer Lucian Piane and collaborating with Neil Gaiman on a new song. Also, Justin gives the back story behind his debut novel Husky, released this month from Penguin Books. GABRIELLE STRAVELLI - the celebrated pop/jazz vocalist and songwriter called an "outstanding singer" by The Wall Street Journal and "hotter than the equator" by The Village Voice, will celebrate her upcoming self-titled CD with her debut solo engagement at 54 Below for four concerts directed by Grammy Award nominated nightlife legend Marilyn Maye, starting on Tuesday, September 29. The new album, produced by David Cook (Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson, Marianne Faithfull), will be released later this season. The recording's first single - a passionate reworking of the Cole Porter classic "Dream Dancing" - will be available on iTunes on Friday, September 25. The show's centerpiece is a selection of Gabrielle's sophisticated original songs, in addition to classic standards and numbers by Bob Dorough ("Where Is the Song?"), Brian Wilson ("Busy Doin' Nothin'") and The Indigo Girls ("The Power of Two"). For the engagement, Stravelli will be joined by Joshua Richman on piano, Pat O'Leary on bass and Eric Halvorson on drums.

Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts, the renowned summer arts day camp now in its 48th season, will present its annual Gala tomorrow, August 5, at 6 PM at the McKinley Amphitheater on the Center's 200-acre woodland campus. There will be a 6 PM concert, followed by a 7:30 PM Gala Patron Dinner honoring Executive Director Dale Lewis; after 36 years at the Center, he is stepping down in the fall to direct the new Arts Reach Fund at Long Island Community Foundation.

Birdland Jazz Club Forms New Artist Management Company

Birdland Jazz Club has announced the formation of AB Artists, Artist Management and Booking. The new venture will operate out of Birdland's offices at 315 West 44th Street in NYC and will provide artist services ranging from personal management and domestic booking to royalty administration, recording production and administration, and career development.
