The Television Academy Foundation today announced nominees for the 40th College Television Awards, which recognizes and rewards excellence in student-produced programs annually, as well as the recipient of the 2020 Loreen Arbus Focus on Disability Scholarship.

Orange County Music & Dance, a non-profit community performing arts school, founded by Pick Up Stix founder Charlie Zhang, created a once in a lifetime chance for underserved youth to learn and perform alongside professional musicians. Grammy-award winning bassist and producer Randy Jackson emceed the show. John Rzeznik, guitarist and front man of the Goo Goo Dolls, headlined the concert, performing several solos pieces, as well as songs with the youth musicians. Nancy Wilson of Heart performed!

Last night, Showtime hosted the premiere of the new limited series PATRICK MELROSE. The screening was held at the Linwood Dunn Theater at the Pickford Center for Motion Picture Study and was followed by an after party at Beauty and Essex. 

After last year's incredible success, 'From Classical to Rock' has joined forces with the non-profit OC Music & Dance School to present a star-studded concert benefiting music education for Orange County communities. Hosted by Randy Jackson (American Idol, Bass player, TV personality) and headlined by John Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls, special guests Nancy Wilson of Heart alongside the 'From Classical to Rock Youth Orchestra and Choir', bringing young aspiring OCMD music students together with platinum selling rock stars and acclaimed classical musicians, performing together under one roof.

The Bushwick Starr presents the world premiere of SINGLET, a new play written and created by award-winning performance artist Erin Markey and directed by Jordan Fein. Markey's most recent work includes Boner Killer and the mythopoeic musical A Ride on the Irish Cream.

The world premiere of Paul Rudnick's new play 'Big Night' opened Saturday, September 16 at 8 p.m. at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City. Theater for the New City's Dream Up Festival presents 'The House of Setting Sun'.

From August 28 to September 18, 2016 Theater for the New City (TNC), under the direction of Crystal Field, Artistic Director, will present its seventh Dream Up Festival, a feast of adventurous theater featuring new works from across the country and abroad. Helmed by the theater's Literary Manager, Michael Scott-Price, the festival offers 19 plays, all of which are world premieres or New York premieres.

Coming up at The Iridium are: NYC's all-women blues band JANE LEE HOOKER on July 23; ELLEN KAYE with UK guitarist PAUL ROSE and Ethan Fein and the LiveIt!LIVE Band on July 26; VERNON REID POWER TRIO on July 29; and soul singer/songwriter/guitarist RAUL MIDON on September 24 & 25. The fifth annual Broadway Sings for PKD, a concert benefiting the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation, will be offered Thursday, February 25 at 7:00 pm at The Laurie Beechman Theatre.
