The Tides have changed, not so much from Global Warning, but through Matthew Bourne's latest, revised version of his creation 'Swan Lake.' Thrilling, audacious, witty and emotive, this 'Swan Lake' is perhaps still best known for switching the female corps-de-ballet with a menacing male ensemble, which shattered conventions, turned tradition upside down and took the dance world by storm. Collecting over 30 international accolades including an Olivier Award in the UK and three Tony Awards on Broadway, Matthew Bourne's powerful interpretation of Tchaikovsky's masterpiece is a passionate and contemporary 'Swan Lake' for our times.

Following runs in Los Angeles and Washington D.C., Bourne's passionate and contemporary Swan Lake will play New York City Center January 30 - February 9, 2020. Los Angeles Times recently raved, 'Bourne's dance-drama will make you laugh, break your heart and dazzle you.'

Casting is set for Matthew Bourne's a?oeSwan Lakea?? from New Adventures, which will be presented by Center Theatre Group at the Ahmanson Theatre December 3, 2019 through January 5, 2020. With direction and choreography by Matthew Bourne and music by Tchaikovsky, a?oeSwan Lakea?? will open on December 5 at 8 p.m.

Chicago Opera Theater (COT) continues its 2018/2019 season with the Chicago premiere of the contemporary opera "The Scarlet Ibis." Composed by Stefan Weisman with libretto by David Cote, "The Scarlet Ibis" was declared an "outstanding new chamber opera" by David Allen of The New York Times upon its debut at the 2015 Prototype Festival. Chicago Opera Theater presents the first full production of this operatic adaptation of James Hurst's 1960 short story (apart from its festival debut), featuring the artistry of stage director Elizabeth Margolius and conductor David Hanlon. The opera stars Annie Rosen (who also performed in COT's season-opening production of "Iolanta") as Brother and Jordan Rutter as Doodle.

CULTUREMART makes process the focus, presenting work in various stages of development from the boundary-breaking artists in the HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP). CULTUREMART provides a platform for HARP artists to blur the lines between dance, theatre, music, multimedia, puppetry and visual art, on their journey to mainstage productions. CULTUREMART 2012 features 12 workshop performances spanning topics as varied as civic engagement, human error, music of the spheres, war gaming and everything in between.
