Actor and musician, David Rowen, recently launched a music YouTube channel, davidrowen/creative, which will showcase arrangements and renditions of various songs from the radio, Broadway, and beyond. Amid the prevailing social discord in our country, davidrowen/creative is aiming to promote peace and unity, and stir social change by producing a music video, featuring the beloved medley, 'Joyful, Joyful,' from the Whoopi Goldberg and Lauryn Hill film, Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit.

Over the weekend the Broadway company of KINKY BOOTS bid farewell to original cast member, and long-time Charlie Price, Andy Kelso. After beginning with the production in the original reading, Kelso went on to originate the role of Harry in the 2013 Tony-winning Best Musical.

davidrowen/creativeThe new music Youtube series called davidrowen/creative will showcase performances of creative arrangements of Broadway tunes and radio hits (and beyond). Each video will feature different artists, who are primarily pulled from the theatre scene. Broadway's Mixtape, a new concert series featuring Broadway's best talent performing the songs of the artists who have influenced them the most, will debut at New York's iconic rock club Le Poisson Rouge this September.

The sold-out audience at Broadway's Al Hirschfeld Theatre was dazzled last night, March 21, 2016, by this year's stirring edition of Broadway Backwards. The annual celebration, where men sing songs originally written for women and vice versa offering this audience the chance to see LGBT stories told through the great songs of musical theatre, set a new fundraising record. The evening raised an incredible $480,287 to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center in New York City. The songwriting team of Will Van Dyke and Jeff Talbott is set to release an EP of their songs called A VIEW OF THE RIVER today, September 15, 2015. They will then follow up the release with a concert of their songs at 54 Below on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 9:30 p.m.
