The Tony Award-winning musical KINKY BOOTS will celebrate its landmark 1,000th performance on Broadway tonight, August 26th, with a ticket giveaway and 'fabulous footwear' contest for fans.

Producers Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig announced today that the Tony Award-winning musical Kinky Boots will celebrate its landmark 1000th performance on Broadway on Wednesday, August 26th with a ticket giveaway and "fabulous footwear" contest for fans.

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Emmy Award-winner and Grammy Award nominee Wayne Brady will take over the coveted role of 'Lola' in the Tony Award®-winning musical Kinky Boots at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street) on November 21, 2015. Brady will succeed Broadway's original (and current) award-winning 'Lola,' Billy Porter. Porter has played over 800 performances in the role and won both a Tony Award and a Grammy Award for his work in the production. His final historic performance in Kinky Boots will be November 20, 2015.

The songwriting team of Will Van Dyke and Jeff Talbott is set to release an EP of their songs called A View of the River on Tuesday, September 15, 2015.  They will then follow up the release with a concert of their songs at 54 Below on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 9:30 p.m.

Later this week, 106.7 LITE FM will continue its 15th annual lunchtime theatre summer series, '106.7 LITE FM's Broadway in Bryant Park.' The 2015 program will present the best of Broadway, FREE to the public, on six consecutive Thursdays at 12:30 p.m. ET on the Bryant Park Stage. This Thursday's line-up will include performances from the casts of SAYONARA (Jennifer Piacenti, Morgan McCann, Edward Tolve, Ya Han Chang),  The Phantom of the Opera, Kinky Boots (Jake Odmark, Haven Burton, Nick Rashad Burroughs, Paul Canaan, Sean Patrick Doyle, Robert Pendilla), and BEAUTIFUL (Chilina Kennedy, E. Clayton Cornelious, Alan Wiggins, Douglas Lyons, Melvin Tunstall).

Those signature, red high heels are headed down under! BroadwayWorld has learned that the Tony-winning musical Kinky Boots will make its Australian premiere at Her Majesty's Theatre, Melbourne, from October 2016.

Hosted by HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH's Darren Criss, Broadway's best turned out for the annual performance - including Kinky Boots' Mia Gentile, who performed 'The History of Wrong Guys'!

Tom Viola, Executive Director of BC/EFA, recently joined the cast of KINKY BOOTS in presenting Cyndi Lauper with a "big check" representing the $150,000 donated to TRUE COLORS FUND by BC/EFA from over $1.2 million in resources raised by the show since opening in April 2013. Scroll down for photos!

On Monday, May 11, the Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present Apollo Link, Broadway's premier vocal trio. After half-a-million YouTube hits, the trio brought original arrangements, impeccable harmonies and powerful vocals to the historic music room.  The trio performed fan favorites like "Chandelier," "Latch', 'Shake It Off," 'At Last," "Jealous," and many more. Kyle Taylor Parker, who took over the role in Porter's absence, will head back on the road to continue strutting his stuff as Lola in the First National Touring Production of Kinky Boots.
