Celia Keenan-Bolger will host the fifth annual Broadway Back to School gala, a benefit for the Educational Theatre Foundation (ETF) that supports theatre education programs for schools in need.

The most beautiful thing in the world is a shoe at The Muny this weekend and into next week, as Kinky Boots, based on a 2005 film of the same name, takes the stage in its extraordinary St. Louis premiere after its six-year run on Broadway. There, it won multiple Tony awards, with a book by Harvey Feirstein and music and score by Cyndi Lauper, direction and choreography by Jerry Mitchell (direction re-created for The Muny by DB Bonds and choreography by Rusty Mowery). With its many glitzy surprises and its variety of endearing and glamorous characters, this show will have you saying YEAH!

Today, Washington, DC-based alt-pop powerhouse Heather Mae unleashed 'Be Not Afraid,' a new single and video from her forthcoming LP GLIMMER. The video, a tribute to Pride Month, features J. Harrison Ghee, the star of Broadway musical Kinky Boots, along with other LGBTQ+ dancers and actors. 'After our wedding, my wife and I came face to face with homophobia from someone close to us. I can't explain that emotional pain,' Mae explains of the song's inspiration. 'The thing that got us through was our accepting friends and family who looked at us and told us that our love is not wrong. 'Be Not Afraid' pays homage to the LGBTQ+ community and the struggles we have faced to be ourselves. LGBTQ+ love is so beautiful. That's all I wanted to capture with this video,' Mae says. 'The beauty and bravery.'

The Muny announced today its complete cast, design and production team for Kinky Boots, the second show of its second century, June 19 - 25.

Monday night at NYC's Le Poisson Rouge, the fourth annual Broadway Bee competition scored impressive success. Broadway stars, cast mates, and supporters raised $41,898 for Broadway Bound Kids' arts education programs. Paige Davis, representing team Chicago, took home the grand prize trophy.

Tonight, Broadway stars will compete to be the last one standing and win the Broadway Bee! The event is a comedic spelling bee between Broadway shows, hosted by the creators of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. This unique evening supports the free and tuition-assisted arts education programs of Broadway Bound Kids, whose mission is to inspire and empower young lives through the arts.

Mean Girls star, Taylor Louderman, will be on hand at (Le) Poisson Rouge this Monday, May 6, as the 'Comfort Counselor' for Broadway stars participating in the 4th Annual Broadway Bee, a fundraiser for Broadway Bound Kids. In addition to the fetch Louderman, Afra Hines (Hadestown) and Jillian Mueller (Pretty Woman) round out the classroom of spellers who join previously announced Paige Davis (Chicago), Ali Stroker (Oklahoma), J Harrison Ghee (Kinky Boots), Jelani Remy (Ain't Too Proud), Lee Aaron Rosen (Angels in America), Evan Todd (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical), Zach Hess (Frozen), Lauryn Ciardullo (Aladdin), and Alex Weisman (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child).

New spellers have been added to Broadway Bound Kids' fourth annual Broadway Bee set for Monday, May 6, 2019, at 7 PM at Le Poisson Rouge (158 Bleecker Street). It's a comedic adult spelling bee featuring cast members from hit Broadway shows who compete in a hilarious live event, while raising funds to provide a wide range of performing arts opportunities for NYC youth, regardless of their financial resources. Tickets are now available.
