On the stage, Bailey has most recently starred in Marianne Elliott’s sold-out revival of Cock, which opened to rave reviews in March 2022. Bailey previously collaborated with Elliott for the award-winning Company, alongside Patti Lupone, for which he won an Olivier Award. He also starred alongside Ian Mckellen in King Lear in 2017.

Many great performers tackle Lear every year. The hit production TINA – THE TINA TURNER MUSICAL today announces new casting for the critically acclaimed production which continues at the Aldwych Theatre as rehearsals begin for the new Company. Awards were announced tonight for more than two dozen outstanding actors, directors, designers, ensembles and productions by the Boston Theater Critics Association at The 39th Elliot Norton Awards. 

Just last month, Matcham Books released Troy David Johnston's Going Dark- a new book featuring a series of photographs that document the closure of theatres across the West End and Greater London during the 2020/21 Covid-19 pandemic.

Joining the previously announced David Harbour and Bill Pullman are Hanako Footman, Akiya Henry, Sinead Matthews, Charlie Oscar and Stephen Wight. Directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel, the production opens on 26 June at the Ambassadors Theatre, with previews from 15 June, and runs until 4 September.

Theatr Clwyd today announces the cast for their new production of Celebrated Virgins: A Story of the Ladies of Llangollen, created by Katie Elin-Salt and Eleri B. Jones. This inspiring new play, based on the remarkable true sapphic love story of Lady Eleanor Butler and Miss Sarah Ponsonby, opens at Theatr Mix – Theatr Clwyd's temporary theatre village – on 24 May, with previews from 20 May, and runs until 4 June.
