Sports not only made a star out of vocalist Huey Lewis but also thrust the band into the global spotlight. Combining the concoction of power-pop, blue-eyed soul, doo-wop, and rhythm & blues, the album found itself posited in the Top 40 in numerous counties across the globe, including Norway, Canada, Sweden, Germany, New Zealand, the U.K. and, U.S.

Back to the Future: The Musical just held a Gala Performance, celebrating its arrival on Broadway, and benefitting the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Special guests included original film cast & creative team members Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, Huey Lewis, Steven Spielberg, Robert Zemeckis and more. The complete cast of over 20 actors who will be performing in Sinatra The Musical -  the major new musical based on the life and career of the legendary artist and cultural icon which premieres at Birmingham Rep in September 2023 - has been announced. On Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 2:30, I had the pleasure of seeing what is arguably the absolute best younger audiences production I have ever seen at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre in Bridgeport, CT, WIZARD OF OZ!  Phill Hill has created a phenomenal masterpiece in his adaptation of the classic story by L. Frank Baum in a brilliant and entertaining manner, loaded with great music from the 1980s!

Come to Playhouse on Park for 90 minutes of laughs on Saturday, May 6th, 2023 at 8pm. Carl Yard and Ace Aceto are set to co-headline. BYOB! Doors open 30 minutes prior to the show. Tickets are $20, all seats reserved. 

On Sunday, March 12th, I had the pleasure of seeing yet another phenomenal installment of the Downtown Cabaret Theatre’s Decades in Music series, THE 1980S.  Of the three so far, this one has been my favorite!  THE 1980S is written by Phill Hill, directed and choreographed by Jennifer Kaye, and performed at the Downtown Cabaret Theatre in Bridgeport CT.  THE 1980S represents a trip through song, dance, and video clips of the decade I entered as a pre-schooler and left as a high school freshman.  Consistently with the Decades in Music series, the usual stellar cast of Robert Peterpaul, Everton Ricketts, Mikayla Petrilla, and Saige Bryan provide first-rate performances that truly captivate the feel of the decade and radiate positive energy throughout the audience.  The performers have excellent stage chemistry with each other, harmonize well, and truly look like they are having a great time up on stage, and when breaking the fourth wall and interacting with the audience!

Little Shop of Horrors' current Seymour, Tony-winner Matt Doyle will depart Skid Row this summer. Doyle, who was originally scheduled to leave the production on April 30, will now exit the production on July 16.

Stepping out of his current starring role as Seymour in the off-Broadway revival of Little Shop of Horrors for one night, Matt Doyle comes to the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center on Sunday, January 29 at 7 p.m. as part of the 2023 Aventura Broadway Concert Series presented by the City of Aventura.  

Coppell Arts Center will bring a musical tour de force Forever Young to Coppell for two performances on Saturday, February 11 at 2 PM and 8 PM.

Jazz superstar Euge Groove is returning to Las Vegas for a performance at Chrome Showroom at Santa Fe Station Saturday, June 25, 2023 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $42.50 plus applicable fees and go on sale Friday, Jan. 13, 2023 at 10 a.m.
