The Drama League (Gabriel Stelian-Shanks, Executive Artistic Director) today announced the 2019 Drama League Awards Nominees for Outstanding Production of a Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Production of a Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award. The nominations were announced this morning by the current stars of Waitress, Shoshana Bean and Jeremy Jordan, at the official announcement event at Sardi's Restaurant, which was streamed live online here at BroadwayWorld.
Ruth Eckerd Hall, Inc. Honors Nancy And David Bilheimer

At a reception held last night in the Murray Theatre at Ruth Eckerd Hall, Nancy and David Bilheimer were honored for their $2.5 million gift as part of Ruth Eckerd Hall's theatre's ongoing "Expanding the Experience" fundraising campaign. In recognition of the generous donation, the Capitol Theatre in downtown Clearwater will be named the Nancy and David Bilheimer Capitol Theatre.

The Strokes Play Special Show At The Wiltern In Los Angeles

Last night, The Strokes played a special set to a capacity crowd at The Wiltern in Los Angeles. The evening show was a hometown benefit for The Center in Hollywood and Food Cycle LA. The Strokes partnered with The Center, a community dedicated to ending isolation and homelessness in LA and Food Cycle LA, an organization focused on eliminating hunger and reducing food waste. The evening efforts raised over $250,000 with all proceeds to be shared directly.
