Florida Studio Theatre has announced the lineup for its 49th Winter Season, featuring a four-show Mainstage Series and a three-show Cabaret Series.

Seattle Rep announced that Broadway-alum Cassie Beck (The Rose Tattoo; What the Constitution Means to Me national tour) will lead Seattle Rep's upcoming production of What the Constitution Means to Me by Heidi Schreck and directed by Oliver Butler.

Jonathan Groff will star as “Franklin” and Lindsay Mendez will star as “Mary” in Merrily We Roll Along at New York Theatre Workshop. Merrily We Roll Along features music & lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, and a book by George Furth. They join the previously announced Daniel Radcliffe, who will star as “Charley”.

Seattle Rep has announced the on-sale date for their highly anticipated production of Heidi Schreck's Tony-nominated play, What the Constitution Means to Me.

Sarah Lunnie will be joining The Public Theater staff as Senior Dramaturg. Sarah Lunnie is a dramaturg who works mainly on the creation and development of new plays. Sarah was previously an Associate Artistic Director of the Jungle Theater, the Literary Director of Playwrights Horizons, and the Literary Manager at Actors Theatre of Louisville.

The other performances of the 2022-2023 season include the world premiere of a new musical comedy, SHUCKED; the Utah premiere of THE PROM, one of Broadway's recent mega-hits; A CHRISTMAS STORY, THE MUSICAL; and PUTTING IT TOGETHER

The Cape Cod Theatre Project’s (CCTP) all-female playwright and director season continues with Anna Ziegler’s The Janeiad which will be directed by two-time, Obie Award-winning writer and director, Lisa Peterson (An Iliad).

New York Theatre Workshop has announced the playwrights and directors selected for the 2022/23 Season 2050 Artistic Fellowship. The 2022/23 Artistic Fellows are Miranda Cornell, Thaddeus McCants, Aileen Wen McGroddy, Attilio Rigotti, Andrew Rodriguez and Minghao Tu.

The Cape Cod Theatre Project's (CCTP) all-female playwright season opens with Gina Femia's The Violet Sisters, featuring Lucy DeVito and Sarah Schenkkan, directed by Taylor Reynolds. Reynolds is the 2021 LPTW Lucille Lortel Award recipient and director of the critically-acclaimed Tambo & Bones at Playwrights Horizons.

This season’s Theater Up Close series returns with five extraordinary productions, including two world premieres by Miami playwrights Michael McKeever and Vanessa Garcia, one Florida premiere and the regional premiere of Heidi Schreck’s Pulitzer and Tony Award nominated hit Broadway play What the Constitution Means to Me. 

The Center for Fiction, a 200-year-old literary nonprofit that has created an immersive home for readers and writers in downtown Brooklyn, and Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, will co-present Story/Teller Arts: Aleshea Harris with Nissy Aya on June 8 at 7pm ET at The Center for Fiction, 15 Lafayette Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11217, and via livestream.

What the Constitution Means to Me has partnered with TodayTix to offer a limited number of $40 tickets for its one-night-only reading on June 9, 2022, at 8pm. The evening will benefit the National Network of Abortion Funds. Schreck and the original Broadway cast of What the Constitution Means to Me will star. 

Clubbed Thumb has announced complete casting for the final production of the rescheduled 25th SUMMERWORKS festival of new plays, Bodies They Ritual. Performances will run June 22-July 2.

New York Theatre Workshop announced today that Patricia McGregor will succeed James C. Nicola as Artistic Director, following a yearlong search led by ALJP Consulting and a dedicated search committee of artists, staff and Trustees.

With creative support from New Georges and Clubbed Thumb, playwrights Justice Hehir, Dena Igusti, Phanésia Pharel, Nia Akilah Robinson, and Julia Specht release THE WISH, a free, downloadable play meant to spark conversation and protest in the wake of the Supreme Court's draft opinion against Roe v. Wade and increasing numbers of statewide bans.

Heidi Schreck and the original Broadway cast of her Tony Award nominated and Pulitzer Prize finalist play What the Constitution Means to Me will reunite for a special one-night-only reading of the play to benefit the National Network of Abortion Funds on June 9, 2022 at 8pm at the historic Great Hall at Cooper Union.
