Birdland will kick-off their great week of programming with the following acts:

Augie Haas is best known as a well-respected trumpeter, educator and composer. His most recent recording, Dream A Little Dream, is a change of pace. It balances jazz and doo-wop standards, featuring eight vocal tracks and three instrumentals. Haas displays an impressive range on trumpet as well as an effective voice that does justice to the lyrics that he interprets.  

City of Hope, a world-renowned independent cancer research and treatment center, today announced the artists and creators who will receive special recognition at the Music, Film and Entertainment Industry Group's 15th Annual Songs of Hope next month. Producer Boi-1da and songwriter Diane Warrenwill receive the Clive Davis a?oeLegend in Songwritinga?? Award presented by Clive Davis himself, composer and lyricist Marc Shaiman will receive the Electronic Arts a?oeComposer of the Yeara?? Award, songwriter and recording artist Tierra Whack will receive the Universal Music Publishing Group a?oeShe Is The Musica?? FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Blaine Alden Krauss in From the Soul on October 13th, 2019. In his anticipated New York City solo concert debut, Krauss offers his vocal interpretations on funk, disco and theatrical favorites. With a bold and inspiring set list, the high- spirited evening of music will feature the eclectic influences of artists/shows such as Prince, Stephen Sondheim, Diana Ross, Purlie! and The Wiz. Peninsula Players Theatre, America's oldest professional resident summer theater and Door County's theatrical icon, is excited to announce the opening of 'Silent Sky' by Lauren Gunderson. 'Silent Sky' tells the story of unsung astronomer Henrietta Swan Leavitt, whose discoveries at Harvard Observatory in the 1890s opened the galaxies above. 'Silent Sky' performs August 21 through September 1.

The Coral Springs Center for the Arts today announced that tickets are now on public sale for the upcoming music- and laugh-packed 2019-2020 season offering an exciting, diverse, audience-wowing array of concerts, shows and events, including the popular jukebox musical JERSEY BOYS, the winner of four Tony Awards and a Grammy.

Katherine Heigl, Harry Connick Jr., and Madison Iseman have signed on to the psychological thriller, I SAW A MAN WITH YELLOW EYES.  Written and directed by Castille Landon, the film will start shooting this week in Tampa and St. Petersburg.

California Pops Orchestra, celebrating it's 30th season as the country's only all-request pops orchestra, joins forces with the Black Tie Big Band to perform Swingtime at the Pops at Flint Center for the Performing Arts. The Pops' Great American Big Band tribute and a perennial audience favorite features the hits of the 30's, 40's and beyond - when swing was the thing! This concert includes masters of yesteryear such as Ellington, Miller, Dorsey, Goodman, Artie Shaw as well as pieces from newer composers and musicians with the Big Band sound.
