Award-winning Porchlight Music Theatre has announced that multi-award winner and star of stage, screen and television Raúl Esparza is the 2024 ICON Award recipient.

Soprano Karen Slack and pianist Michelle Cann will release 'Beyond the Years,' an album featuring 19 unpublished songs by Florence Price, showcasing her unique contributions to classical music.

I couldn’t help but wondering whether the scheduling last week of two recent productions at the Vienna State Opera, Claus Guth’s TURANDOT and Cyril Teste’s SALOME, on subsequent nights had anything more than the availability of the stars behind it. After all, both portrayed the title characters as abused women scarred by powerful men—not exactly the business-as-usual for these works by Puccini and Strauss, respectively—in pared-down productions that hearkened to the father of psychoanalysis, Sigmund Freud, as well as to #MeToo.

Chase Wolfe was born in Texas and raised in South Carolina. He performed often as a child, but heeded his parents’ wishes and double-majored in Chinese and Chemistry. He is currently playing Edward Lewis, the role made famous by Richard Gere, in PRETTY WOMAN: THE MUSICAL, which lands in Montreal’s Salle Wilfred Pelletier on March 5 and runs through March 10.
