The YCA New York, NY series begins with The Final Auditions at the Kaufman Music Center to round out the Susan Wadsworth International Audition cycle on October 31, followed by the Winners Concert on November 1.

The Howard County Arts Council has announced Howard County's signature arts event! The 24th annual Celebration of the Arts in Howard County, marking the Arts Council's 40th year (1981-2021), will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 7:00-9:00pm at the Jim Rouse Theatre for Performing Arts in Columbia.

The festival will feature more than 200 comedians from around the world performing in over 100 shows across all five boroughs at New York City’s most iconic venues, including the Apollo Theatre, Beacon Theatre, Carnegie Hall, Carolines on Broadway, Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden and Town Hall, among others.

'The Storm' was written in the mid-1920s by Clarence Kohlmann, who served as the organist in the Great Auditorium from 1924-1944. This rarely-heard piece follows a Civil War army unit as it marches and encamps with snippets of music from that era: 'Dawn' from the Peer Gynt Suite,' a bugle's reveille, 'America,' hymns and church bells, a funeral march.
