Stream Goodman Theatre's A CHRISTMAS CAROL

As the holiday season comes to a close, A Christmas Carol—An Audio Play is still available to stream through December 31. Recorded at the Goodman by an all-Chicago cast of 19 and an updated audio adaptation, the 43rd annual production is Goodman Theatre’s gift to Chicago this year. 

Steep Theatre Expands Ensemble

Steep Theatre will welcome several new members to its ensemble of artists. Laura Alcalá Baker, Debo Balogun, Chris Chmelik, Destini Huston, Omer Abbas Salem, and Joe Schermoly are Steep’s newest Ensemble Members. All six of these artists have played pivotal roles in Steep’s artistic development over the past several years, and the company is honored to have them involved in shaping the organization’s future.

NNPN's Annual Commission Awarded To Nambi E. Kelley

National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that collaborate in innovative ways to develop, produce, and extend the life of new plays, has announced the recipient of this year's Annual Commission: Nambi E. Kelley, in partnership with San Diego Repertory Theatre, will develop her new play, Project American X.

Raven Stubbs Named PlayMakers Laboratory's New Program Director

PlayMakers Laboratory has announced the appointment of Raven Stubbs as the company's new Program Director. Stubbs is responsible for overseeing all of PML's educational activities, including in-school programming, after-school programming, professional development and training new teaching artists. Stubbs succeeds Shá Norman, who has served in the position since 2017.

Alliance Theatre Joins ENOUGH: Plays To End Gun Violence

The Alliance Theatre has announced its participation in the Digital Premiere of the seven winning plays of #ENOUGH: Plays to End Gun Violence, a national short play competition for middle and high school students, in-collaboration with fellow partner theatres including Arizona Theatre Company, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Goodman Theatre, Orlando Repertory Theatre, and South Coast Repertory. Starting on December 14, 2020 — the 8-year remembrance of the shootings at Sandy Hook — the winning titles will be available on the streaming platform Broadway on Demand.

Door Shakespeare Reading Series Brings You William Shakespeare In A Holiday Offering

Door Shakespeare has announced the third offering in 2020's Door Shakespeare Reading Series: Dream Upon Avon, by Wisconsin's own John Kishline, running Friday, December 11 through Sunday, December 13. Shows are Friday and Saturday at 7:00, and Sunday at 5:00. The Door Shakespeare Reading is free, with donations encouraged. Dad's Garage Announces Tim Stoltenberg As Interim Artistic Director

Since the announcement of Jon Carr's upcoming departure to The Second City to serve as their new Executive Producer, the Dad's Garage board has selected an Interim Artistic Director to lead the company: former Dad's Garage ensemble member Tim Stoltenberg.
