The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and Georgetown University will celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a free, ticketed musical tribute, the Let Freedom Ring Celebration. The annual program, part of the Center’s Millennium Stage free daily performance series, features Leslie Odom, Jr.

Aactor and filmmaker George Clooney, contemporary Christian pop singer-songwriter Amy Grant, the legendary singer of soul, Gospel, R&B and pop Gladys Knight, Cuban-born American composer, conductor and educator Tania León, and iconic Irish rock band U2 (comprised of band members Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr.) are the Honorees.

The winner of America’s longest running talent show, Amateur Night at The Apollo will be crowned. From a global pool of vocalists, rappers, dancers, instrumentalists, comedians, spoken-word artists, and other performers, one talented entertainer will be taking home the highly coveted Amateur Night Grand Prize.

An outstanding Australian cast has been announced for the highly-anticipated 2023 national tour of the powerful rock drama Rolling Thunder Vietnam. The hand-picked ensemble comprises Brittanie Shipway, Tom Oliver, Christian Charisiou, Jerrod Smith, Imogen Moore and Sam Richardson.

The Flynn has announced new music shows coming to the Main Stage in 2023. On March 8 at 7:30 pm, multinational operatic pop group Il Divo graces the stage at the Flynn. And on March 10 at 7:30 pm, the hit tribute show The Simon & Garfunkel Story comes to Burlington.

Together, Charles and Burk and co-producer Phil Ramone curated a list of artists and matched them with specific songs.  The record features collaborations with some of the biggest names in music like Norah Jones, Elton John, James Taylor, BB King, Van Morrison, Willie Nelson, Bonnie Raitt and more, all performing with Charles.

Jonelle Procope, President and CEO of the Apollo, after two decades of leading the iconic cultural and civic non-profit dedicated to providing a platform for Black creativity, will step down on June 30, 2023.

The new musical PERFECT WORLD will get an invite-only, industry presentation on October 27 & 28. It features book and lyrics by Alan Edmunds, music & lyrics by Richard Winzeler, and will be directed by Karen Carpenter with music director & vocal arrangements by Laura Bergquist and choreography by Alexandra Beller.

In celebration of the 60th anniversary of James Bond on the silver screen, the 14 remaining couples will perform dances to iconic songs from the James Bond franchise for week three of the mirrorball competition. “Bond Night” will open with a special pro performance to “Live and Let Die” by Paul McCartney & Wings.
