Leah Ryan's FEWW Celebrates Ten Years Of The Leah Ryan Prize At Cherry Lane Theatre

Leah Ryan's Fund For Emerging Women Writers celebrates ten years of awarding it's prize to women playwrights with 10 X 10: An Evening of 10 Minute Plays Celebrating Ten Years of Winners. The gala event will take place at Cherry Lane Theatre on March 30 and will feature world premiere short plays from past recipients Megan Mostyn Brown, Genia Femia, Jiehae Park, and Eliana Pipes. A pre-show cocktail reception begins at 6:00pm, followed by the main performance at 7:00pm and an afterparty at Cowgirl. The evening will be under the direction of Daniella Topol. American Blues Theater Names 2020 Blue Ink Playwriting Award Recipient, Announces 2020 Blue Ink Festival

American Blues Theater, under the continued leadership of Artistic Director Gwendolyn Whiteside, announces the winner of the 2020 Blue Ink Playwriting Award is Recent Unsettling Events by Andrea Stolowitz. A staged reading of the play will be presented as part of the 2020 Blue Ink Playwriting Festival, along with new work by finalists Football Football Football Football (or I Love Lave Dash) by Kristoffer Diaz, The Mermaids' Parade by Gina Femia, and Crying on Television by R. Eric Thomas. The Blue Ink Playwriting Festival runs May 2-4, 2020 at 4809 N Ravenswood, Suite #126, in Chicago.

Radio Roots Writers' Group, A Project Of The Parsnip Ship, Announces Its First Cohort

The Parsnip Ship announced today its first cohort of its newly created Radio Roots Writers' Group. The Radio Roots Writers' Group is a group facilitated by The Parsnip Ship (TPS) to support emerging playwrights interested in re-engaging with playwriting through audio-focused storytelling, breaking away from traditional forms of visual storytelling. Much like all programming on The Parsnip Ship's platform, Radio Roots seeks to cultivate distinct new theater artists. The first cohort will include playwrights: Amara Brady, Gina Femia, Jessie DeBruin and Nina Ki.

DREAM HOU$E By Eliana Pipes To Receive Reading November 18

DREAM HOU$E by Eliana Pipes, winner of the 2019 Leah Ryan Prize for Emerging Women Writers, 'Leah's FEWW' will receive a reading Monday November 18 at The Loft at Theater 511, 511 West 54th Street, in Manhattan. The reading will be directed by Kathleen Capdesuñer and feature Amandina Altomare, Emilie Battle, Amanda Borges, and Cindy De La Cruz. Alex Tobey will line produce and Hanako Rodriguez will stage manage.

Parity Productions Awards Shualee Cook And Gina Femia Awarded 2019 Annual Parity Commission

Theatre production company Parity Productions, a producer of new work that ensures they fill at least 50% of the creative positions (playwrights, directors, and designers) on their productions with women and/or trans and gender nonconforming (TGNC) artists, has awarded two commissions to Shualee Cook for Cercle Hermaphroditos and Gina Femia for you know, that Bakery out in Bensonhurst that don't got a name. The ceremony took place on Wednesday, October 16th at the third annual Parity Awards Ceremony and Celebration at Theaterlab.

MCC Theater Announces Fall 2019 PLAYLAB And SONGLAB Readings

MCC Theater announced today the line-up for their Fall 2019 PlayLabs readings of new plays to be held at The Newman Mills Theater at The Robert W. Wilson MCC Theater Space (511 West 52nd Street): Gina Femia's Allond(r)a, directed by Elena Araoz; Ana Nogueira's Mask Only, directed by Mike Donahue; C.A. Johnson's I Know I Know I Know, directed by Taylor Reynolds; and Brian Otaño's The Dust, directed by David Mendizábal.

Gina Femia And Additional Writers Announced For Final NY Madness Of Season

The final Madness of the season will be a (mostly!) All-Company Madness and will take place on Sunday, July 28th at 8pm at The Kraine Theater (85 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery). NYM Company member Gina Femia will be the featured guest and pick the theme.
