BWW Review: SALON Throws a Sweet Sixteen Party at Don't Tell Mama

Tonight, SALON performed for the first time after sixteen months off. Even the threat of a tropical storm outside didn’t deter a good number of people from celebrating its return. This evening’s theme was threefold: “Welcome Back!,” “Sweet Sixteen” in honor of Salon’s 16th anniversary, and “Bernstein at 103” to celebrates the 103rd birthday of the great Leonard Bernstein. Tonight’s co-host was the much-awarded cabaret artist, Julie Reyburn.

Cherry Lane Theatre Sold to Lucille Lortel Theatre Foundation

Cherry Lane Theatre, the oldest continuously running Off-Broadway theatre in New York City, has a new owner, it has been announced by Angelina Fiordellisi, the theatre’s Executive Director since having acquired the building in 1996.  Cherry Lane is located at 38 Commerce Street in Greenwich Village.

Untitled Theater Company No. 61 will present the World Premiere of Alma Baya, a new science fiction drama written and directed by Edward Einhorn (The Marriage of Alice B. Saturday June 19, at 7pm, live The Marriage of Alice B. Toklas by Gertrude Stein, written and directed by Edward Einhorn, will have a live Zoom production broadcast via YouTube on Saturday June 19. It will reunite the original New York cast: Jan Leslie Harding, Mia Katigbak, Grant Neale, and Alyssa Simon.

Cincinnati May Festival Announces 2021 Programming

The Cincinnati May Festival has announced program details and artists for the 2021 Festival with five performances taking place between May 21 and 30, 2021 at Cincinnati Music Hall.  Principal Conductor Juanjo Mena will conduct two performances each of two separate programs with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.
