Lefra Productions is already well known for the laugh-out-loud farces that they present each year. This year's brand new farce is MY BOETIE SE BOETIE SE BOETIE SE BABA, by Ray Cooney and his son, Michael, is one of London's West End's most successful farces.

The well-known Irish duo, Foster and Allen have arrived in South Africa, touching down at OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg on Wednesday for the local leg of their GOLD AND SILVER DAYS World Tour.

If you think your life is complicated, put yourself in John Smith's shoes for a moment. John, the taxi driver from MY VROU SE MAN SE VROU has two wives - and now, two families! In MY BOETIE SE SUSSIE SE OU, it is 18 years later and John still keeps his two families in different parts of London.

The well-known group, The Vengaboys, recently toured South Africa. An unfortunate situation happened on Friday evening, 12 December 2014 at their performance at Carnival City when their sound engineer, Frank Bethlehem collapsed during the show with a severe stroke.

The much loved actor and singer, Hennie Smit, well known as Bertie in Egoli and now Deda in MY BOETIE SE SUSSIE SE OU, is making very good progress in the Wilgers Hospital's intensive care unit. He contracted double pneumonia two months ago, after which many complications set in. He was immediately transferred to the intensive care unit where he has spent the last eight weeks fighting for his of his life.

Lefra Productions will present a series of shows in repertory at the Roodepoort Theatre this November, showcasing three productions that performed to packed houses at the recent Clover Aardklop National Arts Festival. RSG and Lefra Productions will stage their second Oppiwater Arts Festival on the MSC Opera in March 2015. The first Oppiwater Arts Festival was sold out within six days and is a special and unique festival in that all of the productions are staged in venues aboard the the luxury MSC Opera: truly an arts festival on the water!

The well-known actor and singer, Hennie Smit, who is currently playing the role of Dêda in Lefra Productions's MY BOETIE SE SUSSIE SE OU, was admitted to hospital six weeks ago for double pneumonia. Smit, who played Bertie in EGOLI for many years, subsequently broke a rib because of all the coughing and complications set in when the rib punctured his lung. Smit is currently still in the Intensive Care Unit of the Wilgers Hospital, where his condition is described as serious, but stable. Consequently, Frans Swart, the director of MY BOETIE SE SUSSIE SE OU, will take over Smit's role for the run of the play at this year's Clover Aardklop National Arts Festival in Potchefstroom.

Seasoned actor Paul Luckhoff is South Africa's new Oom Schalk Lourens, Herman Charles Bosman's iconic narrator of his immortal stories of the Marico district. OOM SCHALK LOURENS SE MAMPOERSTORIES will premiere at this year's Clover Aardklop National Arts Festival, with Luckhoff being directed by Frans Swart.

Lefra Productions is bringing six of its top productions of this year to the Clover Aardklop National Arts Festival. In a first for the festival, Lefra Productions will have the full use of the Totius Hall on the PUK campus.

The long-awaited return of Lefra Productions' COUNTRY LEGENDS AND FRIENDS to Carnival City's Big Top Arena has been confirmed for Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 20:00 and brings together an unrivalled gathering of the legends of South African country music and a new generation of country singers in one of the largest country shows ever!

Unfortunately, the fractured rib perforated his lung last week, which has resulted in further complications.

Comedians Hannes Brümmer and Melt Sieberhagen are all set to host AFRIKAANSE MUSIEKFEES 13 this year.
