With Lefra Productions and RSG's Oppiwater Arts Festival selling out almost a year in advance, fans of Afrikaans theatre will be pleased to know that bookings for the 2017 edition of this popular and unique floating arts festival are now open.

After the overwhelming 10-year success of GROET DIE GROTMAN and the record-breaking total of more than 1 000 performances of the production, Lefra Productions is pleased to announce that a new 'cave' is coming: GROET DIE GROTHELD, with comic actor Cobus Venter in the title role. This brand new and original text has been written by South Africa's own king of farce, Frans Swart, who will direct the show.

Lefra Productions will host a mini-festival at the Roodepoort Theatre with four top productions on stage from 12 April - 7 May.

Meat World at the Springs Market will once again hold a music festival, this time on 2 April from 09:00. The event is free, with big stars performing throughout the event and a Ford Figo up for grabs.

Lefra Productions is already known for their laugh-out-loud farces that have been entertaining audiences nationwide since 2012. This year, it is the turn of farce king Frans Swart's Afrikaans translation of Ray Cooney and John Chapman's runaway hit, DAA' GAAT DIE BRUID! to visit the KKNK in Oudtshoorn, where it is enjoying a sold-out run through 30 March. An extra performance has been scheduled for 28 March to accommodate the demand for tickets for this production.

Lefra Productions is already well-known for its productions of hilarious farces, which have been entertaining audiences in South Africa since 2012. This year, Frans Swart's Afrikaans translation of Ray Cooney en John Chapman's runaway hit  DAA' GAAT DIE BRUID! will tour the country, with a run all set to take place at the KKNK in Oudtshoorn.

An Afrikaans translation of one of London's West End's most successful farces, MY BOETIE SE BOETIE SE BOETIE SE BABA, will visit the Innibos Arts Festival in Nelspruit from 30 June - 4 July 2015.

Well-known radio and theatre personality Frans Swart was locked out of his Afrikaanse Treffers Studio at East Rand Stereo 93.9FM on Thursday night, preventing him from presenting the programme. Swart is a founder member of East Rand Stereo 93.9FM which has been on air for 20 years this year.

The well known Irish Duo, Foster and Allen, are visiting South Africa from 27 March to 7 April 2015 with their GOLD AND SILVER DAYS WORLD TOUR.
