Celebrate AFRIKAANSE MUSIEKFEES 13 at Carnival City, 4 September

It all began on August 31, 2002: Lefra Production staged its first Afrikaans music festival in the Big Top Arena at Carnival City. Thirteen years later, bookings are open for the AFRIKAANSE MUSIEKFEES 13, which wil take place on Saturday, September 4 ay 19:00. Timeless favorites and fresh newcomers bid winter goodbye and welcome spring in spectacular fashion at the Big Top Arena at Carnival City in Gauteng's original African Music Festival!

During the history of AFRIKAANSE MUSIEKFEES, about 200 artists have entertained more than 35 000 people. The country's most acclaimed, most popular and even controversial artists, old and young, new hopefuls and timeless icons have all appeared in the festival - a celebration of pure Afrikaans talent! This year, hosts Hannes Brummer and Melt Sieberhagen will keen keep you in stitches as they introduce top artists like Bobby van Jaarsveld, Bianca le Grange, Jak de Priester, Jannie Moolman, DJ Ossewa, Lance James, Arina de Witt, Rommel Jones, Alwyn Oberholster, Elizma Theron, Carly Bailey and Marlise Scheepers - all on one stage at the Big Top Arena.

As in previous years, Lefra Productions will bring the best of Afrikaans music together on stage. Frans Swart, producer of the African Music Festival, says, "With AFRIKAANSE MUSIEKFEES 13, we are keeping our finger on the pulse of contemporary Afrikaans music, where the lines between different genres are slightly blurred and the result is an eclectic one, with something for everyone's taste in music.
