National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (Folksbiene)-led by Zalmen Mlotek, Artistic Director, and Dominick Balletta, Executive Director-is presenting original, dynamic virtual programming as part of its ongoing Folksbiene! LIVE series in September and October, featuring Magda Fishman's 'A Sweet New Year' on Wednesday, September 16th.

Over the last three decades, the celebrated East Village-based Canadian poet/performer Adeena Karasick and Grammy Award-winning composer/trumpeter Frank London have each transformed the worlds of poetry and music with work that is sensual and political, steeped in Jewish mysticism, exploding notions of high and low culture.

A newly composed symphonic fanfare called 'FOR OUR COURAGEOUS WORKERS' will be played by over 1,000 musicians and non-musicians alike on Wednesday, April 29 at 7:00 p.m., as part of the daily a?oecheera?? honoring front-line workers serving the populace during the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Sunday, April 12, at 2PM, a consortium of Jewish cultural organizations will present a 'Third Seder', an unprecedented online international Yiddish cultural celebration featuring leading contemporary performers of the Yiddish and Klezmer stage.

Remote Theater Project announces that its production of Grey Rock, written and directed by Palestinian artist Amir Nizar Zuabi, will travel to four U.S. cities from January 8-February 9, 2020. Commissioned by Remote Theater Project, Grey Rock marks the first time a U.S. theater company has commissioned a Palestinian artist to create an original work for American audiences.

The Tale of the Allergist's Wife enters its second weekend! The production features Deborah Burke, Andrea Garmun, Randye Kaye, Cody Knox and Jeff Pliskin. Performances run from November 29th through December 15th, on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 p.m. and at 2:00 p.m. on Sundays, with a Thursday performance on December 5th at 8:00 p.m. Frederic Tisch directs the play, which is produced by David Victor.

The Yiddishkayt Initiative (YI) (Avi Hoffman, Producing Artistic Director) and Theater for the New City (Crystal Field, Artistic Director) have announced the full lineup of events for the inaugural YI Love New York YiddishFest. This selection of performances, screenings, and discussions centered around Jewish culture and Yiddish entertainment will play several New York City venues from December 21-29. The Klezmatics will perform their modern take on Eastern European Jewish music at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 8 at Enlow Recital Hall, 215 North Ave., Hillside, on Kean University's East Campus.

On the heels of its spectacular, sold-out run of the Yiddish presentation of Fiddler on The Roof, National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) has announced the 2019-2020 season. For the first time ever, NYTF will present a season with four mainstage productions with a flexible season subscription. The productions, concerts and readings were curated to accompany the incoming exhibit Auschwitz: Not long ago. Not far away on display at the Museum of Jewish Heritage beginning on May 8, 2019.

The free concert will take place on Wednesday, June 12, at SummerStage in Central Park, E 72nd Street near 5th Ave. Admission is free, seating is on a first-come, first served basis. Doors open at 6 pm. The concert begins at 7 pm.

New York City Opera has announced that Blythe Gaissert & Michael Kelly and Briana Elyse Hunter & Jorell Williams will comprise the rotating casts of its upcoming production of AS ONE.

As part of its citywide festival, Migrations: The Making of America, Carnegie Hall presents a special one-night-only event entitled From Shtetl to Stage: A Celebration of Yiddish Music and Culture in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage on Monday, April 15 at 8:00 p.m. Led by Music Director Frank London, the program celebrates the journey of Yiddish culture from Old World to New through music, song, poetry, and humor.
