San Francisco Opera's Centennial Season continues with Francis Poulenc's Dialogues of the Carmelties (Dialogues des Carmélites) at the War Memorial Opera House, October 15–30. Caroline H. Hume Music Director Eun Sun Kim conducts the San Francisco Opera Orchestra, Chorus and soloists in this powerful, 20th-century masterwork in the acclaimed production by French director Olivier Py.
Tenor Eric Ferring to Release 'No Choice But Love: Songs of the LGBTQ+ Community'

The two-CD length album seeks to highlight diverse LGBTQIA+ voices and perspectives, through revelatory performances of important songs by some of today’s leading composers, including the world premiere recording of Ben Moore’s Love Remained in a new version for tenor, and the commissioned title work, No Choice but Love.

Vasco Mendonca Signs to Wise Music Group

Wise Music Group has signed a long-term agreement with Portuguese composer Vasco Mendonça. Mendonça joins the roster of Éditions Alphonse Leduc alongside Betsy Jolas, Henri Dutilleux, Jacques Ibert, André Jolivet, Elsa Barraine, Olivier Messiaen, Germaine Tailleferre, Nadia Boulanger and Francis Poulenc.

A benefit concert for Ukraine, Concert of Compassion, will be held Monday, May 9 at 7:30 p.m., at the historic Congregation Sherith Israel, 2266 California Street. Fiscally sponsored by The Resonance Project and produced by Jonathan Dimmock and Lukáš Janata, the Concert of Compassion will present an array of international classical music talent including renowned mezzo-soprano Frederica von Stade; award-winning composer and pianist Jake Heggie; musicians from the San Francisco Symphony; members of the Artists’ Vocal Ensemble; The Bay Brass; Orthodox Bells authority Victor Avdienko; Ukrainian soprano Alina Ilchuk; baritone Eugene Brancoveanu; bass Matt Boehler and other artists soon-to-be-announced.
Danielle De Niese to Star in LA VOIX HUMAINE

Actor, singer and television personality Danielle de Niese will star as ‘Elle’ in a new film of LA VOIX HUMAINE, Jean Cocteau’s one-woman drama set to music by Francis Poulenc, shot on location in London and Paris. Directed by James Kent (Aftermath, Testament of Youth), with Cinematography from Laurie Rose (High Rise, Rebecca) and designed by Peter Francis (The Father, The Children Act) the film will have its UK premiere on BBC Two in the spring.

The new season of the Schwabacher Recital Series, presented by San Francisco Opera Center and Merola Opera Program, continues on Wednesday, April 6 and Wednesday, April 27 at San Francisco's Dianne and Tad Taube Atrium Theater. Featuring recent and current San Francisco Opera Adler Fellows and Merola Opera Program alumni, the programs showcase emerging young artists from around the globe in the intimacy of a recital setting.
