Signature Theatre has announced that its New York premiere production of Cambodian Rock Band by Lauren Yee, featuring songs by Dengue Fever, directed by Chay Yew, has extended by one week.

Steinberg Playwright Awards took place Monday, January 13, 2020.

Casting is confirmed and tickets are now on sale for the Signature Theatre (Paige Evans, Artistic Director; Harold Wolpert, Executive Director) New York premiere of Cambodian Rock Band by Lauren Yee, directed by Chay Yew, featuring songs by Dengue Fever. The production will play from February 4 to March 8, 2020 with opening night set for February 24, 2020 in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Ghostlist Records has announced it will record the new musical Soft Power, the New York premiere production from The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham), for an original cast album to be released Spring 2020. Soft Power features play and lyrics by Tony Award winner David Henry Hwang and music and additional lyrics by Tony Award winner Jeanine Tesori, with choreography by Tony nominee Sam Pinkleton. A co-commission and co-production with Center Theatre Group, Tony nominee Leigh Silverman directed this groundbreaking new musical-within-a-play.

Conrad Ricamora who plays Oliver in the ABC Series “How To Get Away With Murder” has been jetting back and forth across the country filming the final season of the show and also starring in the new musical “Soft Power” written by David Henry Hwang and Jeanine Tesori at the Public Theatre in NY.  Over the weekend, an old friend, George Takei stopped by to see the show and congratulate him backstage along with Playwright David Henry Hwang and the cast.
