TV personality Gemma 'The GC' Collins will star as 'Mama Morton' in the acclaimed UK and Ireland tour of the international smash hit musical CHICAGO.

Set amidst the razzle-dazzle decadence of the 1920s, CHICAGO is the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. Desperate to avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Chicago's slickest criminal lawyer to transform her malicious crime into a barrage of sensational headlines, the likes of which might just as easily be ripped from today's tabloids.

‘Three Degrees’ soul sensation Sheila Ferguson will star as ‘Mama Morton’ in the acclaimed UK and Ireland tour of the international smash hit musical CHICAGO. Sheila joins the recently announced Russell Watson as ‘Billy Flynn’, Faye Brookes as ‘Roxie Hart’, Djalenga Scott as ‘Velma Kelly’, Jamie Baughan as ‘Amos Hart’ and B.E. Wong as ‘Mary Sunshine’.

Multi-award-winning UK classical singer and stage star Russell Watson will take on the role of 'Billy Flynn' in the acclaimed UK and Ireland tour of the international musical sensation CHICAGO. Russell joins the previously announced Faye Brookes as 'Roxie Hart' and Djalenga Scott as 'Velma Kelly', opening at Liverpool Empire on Monday 7 February 2022.

Renowned singer Sinitta has joined the cast to play the role of 'Mama Morton' in the acclaimed musical, alongside Faye Brookes as 'Roxie Hart', West End and TV star Darren Day as Billy Flynn, Djalenga Scott as 'Velma Kelly' and Joel Montague as 'Amos Hart'.

Both the King's Theatre and Theatre Royal closed their doors on Monday 16 March 2020 following Government guidance aimed to limit the spread of Covid-19 before a mandatory closure notice was given by the Scottish and UK Governments on Monday 23 March 2020 as part of a nationwide lockdown.

David Ian in association with Barry and Fran Weissler have announced that West End and TV star Darren Day will play ‘Billy Flynn’ in the forthcoming UK and Ireland tour of the international musical sensation CHICAGO opening at the King’s Theatre, Glasgow on Saturday 11 September 2021.

Darren joins the previously announced Faye Brookes as 'Roxie Hart', Sinitta as 'Mama Morton', Divina De Campo as 'Mary Sunshine', Djalenga Scott as 'Velma Kelly' and Joel Montague as 'Amos Hart'.

The cast will also include Ishmail Aaron, Michelle Andrews, Delycia Belgrave, Joel Benjamin, Tanisha-Mae Brown, Callum Fitzgerald, Emily Goodenough, Billy Hardy, Aaron Jenkins, Liam Marcellino, Theo Reece, Hollie Jane Stephens and Harrison Wilde.

This week, stars of Birmingham Hippodrome's spectacular pantomime, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, took time out from their final week of performances to visit children and their families at Birmingham Children's Hospital.

On Sunday 2 February the curtain came down on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at Birmingham Hippodrome having played 76 performances. The production ran for just over six weeks featuring a cast including Lesley Joseph, Matt Slack, Joe McElderry and Faye Brookes plus dazzling sets and costumes direct from the London Palladium.

Birmingham Hippodrome has announced the renewal of a long-term four year partnership with the national holiday homes and rental company Darwin Escapes which will support the theatre's relaxed performances in 2020.

Cast, crew and creatives of the fairest panto in the land, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs gathered on the Birmingham Hippodrome stage this week to celebrate Michael Harrison's 10th year directing and producing the historic venue's renowned annual pantomime.

Ahead of their opening performance tomorrow, Saturday 21 December, the cast of the fairest panto in the land gathered on stage for a first look at the dazzling costumes and sets featured in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs which plays at Birmingham Hippodrome until Sunday 2 February 2020.

This week, Panto dame Andrew Ryan took a break from the final week of rehearsals for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to visit Birmingham Bullring & Grand Central's world-famous bull statue.
