Phoenix Theatre Announces All Digital 20-21 Season

The Phoenix Theatre is going all out for a virtual second season. The company's new season will take place entirely online and will include a full line-up of bold classic plays, a fun tribute to William Shakespeare, and a holiday concert.

San Francisco Playhouse Announces August Live Streaming Events

San Francisco Playhouse  announced five new episodes of its live streaming calendar, including three Zoomlet Live Play Readings and two Fireside Chats. The events will be streamed free of charge on the Company's website. Announcements of additional episodes and programming will be made over the coming weeks.

Building on over 40 years of producing powerful contemporary theatre, Studio Theatre is pleased to announce its largest class ever of commissioned artists to Studio R&D, its incubator to support the creation of new work. Studio will award grants to 10 artists-playwrights, directors, and multidisciplinary creators-investing in its future while supporting theatre-makers and expanding the idea of what it means to be a generative artist. For the first time, Studio R&D commissions are being awarded to support the creation of audio plays, as Studio explores alternate modes of theatrical storytelling in response to the present moment.

Magis Theatre Company Reschedules Production of THE ALCESTIAD to June 2021

The Magis Theatre Company will postpone their previously announced production of Thornton Wilder's The Alcestiad- A play in three acts with a satyr play: The Drunken Sisters. Originally scheduled to run this June, it will be presented next June 2021 (exact dates TBA).

The Santa Fe Opera Cancels 2020 Season

General Director Robert K. Meya today announced the cancellation of the Santa Fe Opera's 2020 Season scheduled to open on July 3 and run through August 29. The cancellation is a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent closure of nonessential businesses, constraints on public gatherings and restriction of both domestic and international travel. These precautions, taken to protect public health and safety, have impacted the opera's ability to fully prepare and safely gather for its 64th Festival Season.
