Geffen Playhouse today announced six productions that will make up the 2020/2021 season in its Gil Cates and Audrey Skirball Kenis Theaters, with two additional productions to be announced. This marks the 25TH anniversary season for Geffen Playhouse, which will launch September 8, 2020, and run through July 25, 2021.

23 composers and playwrights have contributed new works to Blindspot Collective's upcoming production of Hall Pass, an immersive musical being presented by La Jolla Playhouse for the 2019 Without Walls Festival. During the performance, audiences will choose where to go and what to watch as 18 distinct plays and musicals unfold across the High Tech High campus in Liberty Station. Inspired in part by research and interviews conducted with high school students in New York, West Virginia, Illinois, Texas, and California, Hall Pass will feature a cast of 37 professional performers joined by students from the theatre department at Canyon Crest Academy.
Brooklyn-based theatre company Colt Coeur will present the east coast premiere of Jonathan Spector's screamingly funny yet profound EUREKA DAY. Spector's lauded play uses a heated vaccination debate at a progressive elementary school as a metaphorical lens for the escalating hostility of America's culture wars and our inability to listen to those with whom we disagree. This timely comedy is directed by Adrienne Campbell-Holt (Primary Stages' Downstairs, Colt Coeur's Joan). Previews begin Saturday, August 24th with official opening set for Thursday, August 29th. The Orchard Project is proud to announce the artists, teams, and ensembles participating in its twelfth summer theatre residency program. More than 30 artists and ensembles were selected for residencies this summer from nearly 600 theatre artists and companies who applied. The artists, teams, and companies will come to Saratoga Springs from across the United States and the world to accelerate projects at various stages of development. Throughout the program, the Orchard Project will also present a series of special events and cabarets for the public by OP residents and associated artists.
