Soul to Soul, the electrifying and emotionally-captivating theatrical concert that explores the parallels of African American and Jewish history takes the stage this Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Presented by the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF), this annual concert will play on Sunday, January 20, 2pm, Off Broadway at the Museum of Jewish Heritage A Living Memorial to the Holocaust, Edmond J. On the heels of its spectacular, sold-out run of the Yiddish language presentation of Fiddler on The Roof, National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) has announced the upcoming Winter-Spring 2019 season, which will include the civil-rights era inspired concert Soul to Soul, restored gems from the golden age of the Yiddish theater in From the Yiddish Rialto to the Silver Screen and the world premiere of the jazz opera Dear Erich, being presented with the New York City Opera.

Origin Theatre Company, the city's only theatre company devoted to presenting the American premieres of new works by Europe's brightest contemporary playwrights, presents the world premiere of the acclaimed Italian-born playwright Marco Calvani's new play "Beautiful Day Without You," beginning Thursday November 1. Directed by Erwin Maas, "Beautiful Day Without You" features a cast of three that includes Dan Butler ("Bulldog" on TV's Frasier and last season's "Travesties" on Broadway), Richarda Abrams and Anne Son.

New York's only immersive Bloomsday Breakfast -- hosted by Origin Theatre Company and Bloom's Tavern, 208 East 58th Street -- will be bursting with talent this year in an expanded edition, at a new time.  Landing on a Saturday, the June 16 free event will begin at 11:30am instead of the usual time and feature an expanded line-up of talent and a juried costume competition that will be bigger and more festive than ever.

Origin's 1st Irish 2018, the world's only theatre festival dedicated to showcasing the work of contemporary Irish playwrights, handed out its Best of Festival Awards at closing night festivities at Rosie O'Grady's in Times Square last night. The awards were very evenly distributed among the seven productions in competition from Ireland and the US, but the life of the party was Isobel Mahon's comedy "Party Face," which picked up awards for Best Actress (its star Hayley Mills) and for Best Production. Produced by Robert Driemeyer, Morgan Sills and Jan Warner, the Irish hit's US premiere plays at City Center through April 8. Its New York-based cast includes Klea Blackhurst, Gina Costigan, Brenda Meaney and Allison Jean White.
