The National Yiddish Theatre - Folksbiene just presented a remarkable concert event celebrating the folk legend and actor Theodore Bikel in anticipation of his 90th birthday in May 2014. 'Miracle of Miracles: A Chanukah Extravaganza' filled the stage at Symphony Space, 2537 Broadway, last night, December 2 with one rare musical treat after another. Featured in the all-star cast were the beloved Emmy-winning actor Fyvush Finkel, klezmer giant Frank London, the Russian concert phenomenon Psoy Korolenko and the Broadway actors Joanne Borts ('Once') and Elmore James, among many others. The City University of New York will host Notes From the Underground, a concert series, presented by The National Yiddish Theatre - Folksbiene. The series will play at Hunter College, Brooklyn College, Queens College and Lehman College.

National Yiddish Theatre - Folksbiene, Executive Director Bryna Wasserman and Artistic Director Zalmen Mlotek, will present a multitude of theater and music events for its 99th season including the American premiere of the tender coming-of-age musical adapted from the 1975 Academy-Award-nominated and Golden-Globe-Award-winning film Lies My Father Told, November 10 through December 15, and the return by popular demand of The Megile Of Itzik Manger, March 2 through 16.

The Rides is a new all-star blues-rock trio formed by legendary singer-songwriter and Buffalo Springfield/CSN/CSN&Y principal Stephen Stills, fellow guitar slinger Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and venerable Electric Flag keyboardist Barry Goldberg. The group will tour throughout September in support of its debut album, Can't Get Enough, set for release August 27 on 429 Records. The series of dates kicks off with the band filming a concert for television from New York City's iconic Iridium Jazz Club on August 28 and 29, and wraps on September 27 at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, NV. Highlights also include shows at the Wilbur Theatre in Boston (9/7), Theatre at Westbury in Westbury, NY (9/8), Pabst Theatre in Milwaukee, WI (9/13), ACL Live at the Moody Theatre in Austin, TX (9/21), and The Fillmore in San Francisco (9/25).
