CheckiT Dance presented its third annual Check Us Out Dance Festival: A Celebration of Female Choreographers, on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Summit Rock in Central Park. The evening included works from more than 10 female choreographers from the United States and abroad. CheckiT Dance is an all female modern dance company focusing on gender issues, female identity, objectification and the exploration of traditional gender roles.

THE NEW YORK MUSICAL THEATRE FESTIVAL, MONICA RAYMUND of SISU THEATRICAL PRODUCTIONS, and CAVE 76 PRODUCTIONS are pleased to announce the world premiere production of VOLLEYGIRLS, with book by Rob Ackerman (Tabletop - 2001 Drama Desk), lyrics by Sam Forman (book for F#%king Up Everything), music by Eli Bolin (I Sing, Roller Boogie TV: Sesame Street), musical supervision by Matt Castle, choreographed by Ryan Kasprzak (TV: Smash Tour: Billy Elliot), musical direction by Mike Pettry and directed by Neil Patrick Stewart (LA theatre: The Elephant Man - Ovation Award nominations). VOLLEYGIRLS will play a limited engagement at Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street, NY, NY 10036). Performances begin Monday, July 15 and continue through Saturday, July 27. Opening Night is Monday, July 15 (9 p.m.).

Amalgamate Dance Company (ADC) is not your typical dance company. Moving beyond concert dance as a beautiful art form to watch to dance for a purpose, ADC presents 'Giving Back and Moving Forward' as an artistic platform for communities to actively engage in charity work. For their annual Spring Gala, ADC has chosen to raise aphasia awareness in conjunction with The National Aphasia Association (NAA). ADC will offer two exciting programs including the premiere of a new dance work inspired by Aphasia research and a documentary of the making of the dance work.

So You Think You Can Dance is down to the 8 finalists, determined this week after Noelle Marsh and Nathan Trasoras were eliminated on Tuesday night. This week's results show also featured performances by Snoop Dogg with Quest Crew, who debuted his new single, 'I Wanna Rock,' as well as by LXD (Legion of Extraordinary Dancers).
