La MaMa presents Clover, a new experimental theater drama about America's history of violence by Erik Ehn, directed by Glory Kadigan with original music by Maya Solovey and original puppet design & puppetry direction by Jeanette Oi-Suk Yew. Performances will be staged at the First Floor Theatre at La MaMa, 74a East 4th Street, New York, NY 10003 from tonight, December 1, through December 16, 2016.

Performance Space 122's annual performance festival, Coil, returns for its twelfth edition with 13 individual events. The festival explores the constant vitality of live performance in New York City through contemporary artists from diverse genres, cultures and perspectives. Featuring work created locally, across the U.S., and around the world, Coil is known for its groundbreaking contemporary performance across interdisciplinary art, working with new technologies and forms. Through installations, live and virtual practices, PS122 is committed to redefining how, where, and when performance is experienced.

La MaMa in association with SuperYou FUNdation will present the pop/rock musical CHIX 6 by Lourds Lane (book, music, lyrics) for four performances only. Directed by Jackson Grace Gay, musical direction by Wendy Bobbitt Cavett and choreographed by JoAnn Hunter, will play December 1- 4, 2016 at the Ellen Stewart Theatre (66 E 4th St). Sheri Sanders is not only a trailblazing educator when employing pop/rock music in Musical Theatre, but she has also been surviving death-defying acts as the 'Company Cover' in the workshop of a new Broadway-bound musical 'Chix 6'. While Sanders is about to launch exciting things in January for her online training program 'Rock The Audition', she's been embodying a plethora of comic book superheroes by day.

Part noise concert, part Burroughs' reading tour, Decoder 2017: The Soft Machine is the latest work conceived and directed by OBIE winner Mallory Catlett ("This was the End"). Using material from The Nova Trilogy, (a 60's intergalactic space odyssey written by cutting up text and randomly reassembling it for a mind bending effect), Catlett creates a contemporary cut-up of sound, word, and image generated live by cassette tape DJ and sound artist G Lucas Crane. Together with legendary downtown artist and Obie, Bessie and Lucille Lortel award winner, Jim Findlay ("Botanica,' 'Dream of the Red Chamber') they act as both fictional characters and real-time systems operators. Along with Crane, the interactive design is completed by Keith Skretch (video) and Ryan Holsopple (interaction).

La MaMa just celebrated its 55th season with a singular Gala Event like no other last night, November 10, at La MaMa Annex (66 E.4 St.). The Grammy-winning, co-author of the Tony-winning musical THE COLOR PURPLE and legendary party-hostess Allee Willis threw one of her renowned bashes, created especially as a benefit for La MaMa: BADEYA BABY! or HOW I LEARNED TO LOVE THE THEATRE. 

MAN IN SNOW - the newest work by celebrated playwright Israel Horovitz (OUT OF THE MOUTHS OF BABES) - will receive its New York premiere this fall at La MaMa's First Floor Theatre (77 E. 4 St.) with previews beginning tonight, November 11, prior to opening night November 14, 2016.   Mr. Horovitz also directs the play. 

On Monday, December 12, for one night only, La MaMa will present 'An Italian Miracle,' an evening of a performance, panel discussion and film screening, to introduce New York to 'The Integrated Theatre of Emotion,' a university-level program for mentally disabled people that has been established by Italian actor/director Dario D'Ambrosi.

Casting is now complete for New Yiddish Rep's highly anticipated 'God of Vengeance,' which begins previews for a five-week Off-Broadway run at La MaMa, 74A East 4th Street, starting December 22. It opens on Christmas Day, Sunday, December 25 at 7:30pm.

Allee Willis will host Gala 55 at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club and perform her live show, 'Ba-de-ya Baby! Or: How I Learned to Love the Theatre.'

After a successful run at the Mercury Theatre, The Bardy Bunch: The War of the Families Partridge and Brady closed their doors on Sunday, October 23 to an excited crowd that included Bryan Cranston, the Emmy-winning actor best known for his role in Breaking Bad. LaMaMa is proud to present the US premiere of Pitecus by RezzaMastrella (Flavia Mastrella and Antonio Rezza), resident artists of Italy's renowned experimental theatre Teatro Vascello for a limited engagement from October 13 - October 16, 2016. La MaMa has had a long-standing relationship with Teatro Vascello since the 1970's, and this production is the first time the company has been back since 2000.
