Another installment of the Pandemic Playlist for your isolation entertainment. Today is Ladies' Day

Today's Pandemic Playlist is just the boys and girls. No groups, no specialty acts, just the women and the men who step out onto the stage and sing for their supper. These are some of the best, some you'll find on many a nightclub stage, some can be clocked traveling back and forth between the theater and the cabaret. Whatever journey each of these artists takes to get to the mic doesn't matter - all that matters is that they get to the mic... and the audience, because these ten are something to see.

North Carolina Theatre has announced casting for its upcoming production of Memphis, playing March 24-29, 2020 at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh. North Carolina Theatre's production will be directed and choreographed by Broadway performer Robert Hartwell, and Eric Woodall is NC Theatre's producing artistic director.

Broadway's Future Songbook Series - presented by Arts and Artists of Tomorrow - continues its 2019-20 season on Monday, February 24th in the Bruno Walter Auditorium at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center located at 111 Amsterdam Avenue and 65th Street. Produced, Directed and Hosted by John Znidarsic, the evening spotlights the songs of James B. Rubio. (Some lyrics by David Caudle and Katie Baldwin Eng will also be featured.) Show time is 6PM and ADMISSION IS FREE.

One of the longest-running musical partnerships in Broadway history, lyricist and director Richard Maltby, Jr. and composer David Shire, will be honored, along with a diverse group of 17 other outstanding artists, at the 35th Annual Bistro Awards on Monday, March 9 at Gotham Comedy Club (208 West 23rd Street). As is the Bistro Awards tradition, the evening will feature performances by the winners.

Rock and Roll couple Catherine Porter and Jim Vallance gather the gang for one night of his famous songs, her incomparable vocals, and some surprises for a happier than hell crowd of rock devotees at Birdland.

The versatile powerhouse singer Catherine Porter is singing as often as she can these days - it keeps her happy and healthy, but singing with her famous boyfriend at The Birdland Theater is super bliss!

Come to The Green Room 42 for a celebration of the music from Little Women. On the tails of the epic movie release, Annabelle Fox (producer + Amy March) decided it was the perfect time to remount their wildly successful concert that took place last May, in which they raised money for the NYC Women's March.

Broadway veteran Elizabeth Ward Land (AMAZING GRACE, MEMPHIS, THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL) returns to The Green Room 42 with her acclaimed concert STILL WITHIN THE SOUND OF MY VOICE- THE SONGS OF LINDA RONSTADT for three shows, January 16, 17 and 18, 2020 at 7pm. Touching on genres ranging from rock, country, folk, light opera, big band and mariachi, Elizabeth Ward Land finds her perfect vocal match in this salute to the great Linda Ronstadt. Featuring hits from the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers vast catalogue, including YOU'RE NO GOOD, BLUE BAYOU, DIFFERENT DRUM, DESPERADO, FRENESI and HEAT WAVE, the evening promises something for every music lover. Directed by Alan Muraoka, with Music Supervision and arrangements by Andrew David Sotomayor- with special guests Catherine Porter and Joel Waggoner.

Holding it all together throughout was Mr. Simmons himself, with expert conducting, a perfunctory piano playing style, and his superior rock/pop/gospel vocals, he truly brought the concert to his cabaret.

Kris Kringle The Musical has announced the full cast for its upstate New York production in Schenectady next month featuring celebrity narrator Eve Plumb. Kris Kringle The Musical is created by Maria Ciampi (original story, book and additional lyrics), Tim Janis (music, lyrics and original orchestrations), Angelo Natalie (music and lyrics), and Frank Galgano and Matt Castle (orchestrations).

After years of playing well with others - whether singing backup for friends' shows, or crooning alongside a cast of puppet characters - Jennifer Barnhart finally steps into the spotlight in her first solo cabaret, fittingly titled, 'It's About Time!' Alan Muraoka directs an evening of stories, silliness and song as Jennifer shares the journey that led her to two of the most famous streets in the world: Broadway and Sesame Street.

The complete cast, including visiting cast with Broadway credentials and returning local actors, has been announced for Pioneer Theatre Company's Concert Production of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is based on the wildly popular 1988 MGM comedy that was a hit film starring Steve Martin and Michael Caine. The concert-style production runs just three performances, over October 18 & 19, 2019, and is an add-on to PTC's 2019-2020 season.

Broadway veteran Elizabeth Ward Land(AMAZING GRACE, MEMPHIS, THE SCARLET PIMPERNEL) will have an encore performance her new show STILL WITHIN THE SOUND OF MY VOICE: THE SONGS OF Linda Ronstadtat The Green Room 42 on Sunday, July 21 at 7pm.
