Following the announcement of their Opening Night Film, Yen Tan's award-winning AIDS drama 1985, NewFest today announced the full lineup of their 30th annual celebration of the year's best LGBT films from around the world. Skora Productions in association with the Whitefire Theatre opened its world premiere comedy DAMAGED FURNITURE written by Howard Skora, directed by Jim Fall on Saturday, March 24, 2018. The play runs Saturday evenings at 8:00 pm, now through May 26, at the Whitefire Theatre in Sherman Oaks.

Tu Eres Mi Flor is a sunny collection of songs sung in Spanish by beloved children's artists Elizabeth Mitchell and Suni Paz. Released on Smithsonian Folkways Recordings during the record label's 70th anniversary celebration, the album honors the legacy of Folkways founder Moses Asch to document quality children's music, and it balances ample amounts of fun and education. The selections include many well-known American folk songs that have been adapted for the enjoyment of both Spanish- and English-speaking children. Elizabeth Mitchell and Suni Paz will be performing songs from the new collection at the upcoming Brooklyn Folk Festival on April 8 at the historic St. Ann's Church in Brooklyn Heights.

Symphony Space announces the 2017-18 season launch of Just Kidding on Saturday, October 7  at 11 am and 2 pm with two sketch comedy performances by The Story Pirates, an uproarious experience for the whole family.  The troupe features actors who take original stories submitted by children and create outlandishly funny sketches and mini-musicals that leave kids and their parents howling in the aisles.
