Brooklyn Ballet, now celebrating 20 years of interdisciplinary dance that confronts convention through collaboration and inclusion, presents Rejoice! The Village Dances, an evening of dance and music that bridges ballet and street dance with works of the past and the now, April 20-23, at The Mark O'Donnell Theater in Downtown Brooklyn.

To honor Agnes de Mille on the 30th Anniversary of her passing, The De Mille Working Group will present a public program featuring live performances, panel discussion, and historical film footage, 6:00-7:30 P.M. on Monday, April 3 at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, Bruno Walter Auditorium. 

New York Theatre Ballet presents Between the Acts: Dance Preservation on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 12pm ET on Zoom. Diving into the art of preserving dance history, this installment of Between the Acts will feature curator of dance for the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, Jane Pritchard, Director of Preservation for Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, Norton Owen, and curator of the Jerome Robbins Dance Division, Linda Murray.

New York Theatre Ballet will present Between the Acts: Antony Tudor on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at 11am ET on Zoom. Taking a look at the life and works of Antony Tudor, this installment of Between the Acts will also feature curator of dance for the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, Jane Pritchard and more.

Taking a look at the life and works of NYTB's Resident Choreographer Sir Richard Alston, this installment of Between the Acts will also feature former NYTB principal dancer and Hiland Artistic Director at NDI New Mexico Steven Melendez, who has been a fixture of Alston's work with NYTB beginning with A Rugged Flourish in 2011.

Broadway music like it's rarely heard will be performed tonight by The New York Pops Orchestra and Judith Clurman's Essential Voices USA in Carnegie Hall. This fall 92Y and New York Theatre Ballet begin a collaboration bringing pre-professional training and performance opportunities to 92Y's School of Dance. The new program-known as NYTB at 92Y (NYTB/92Y)-is open to students starting at age 7, with curriculum based on the Cecchetti syllabus. This new collaboration is in addition to the wide array of classes for all ages and levels in ballet, modern, hip-hop, tap, jazz and more already offered at 92Y's School of Dance.

New York Theatre Ballet will return to Tarboro, North Carolina on March 22, 2018 at 7:30pm to perform in the Edgecombe Community College Performing Arts Series, bringing a program of mixed repertoire. NYTB has performed in the series annually for the past five years. Sponsored by the Furman Mathewson Trust of Edgecombe County Memorial Library, the performance is free, but reservations are required.

The evening titled Legends & Visionaries, is a new offering of their classic series of revivals by esteemed choreographers and composers with a first look work at emerging choreographers

At the inviting New York Live Arts Theater, New York Theatre Ballet presented their Uptown/Downtown/Dance series on March 3, 2017.  Now in their 38th Season, the company stands apart within the larger ballet community for its grasp on classical technique that mingles with undercurrents of modern dance vocabulary. But the program's pacing left something to be desired, as the excitement and delight peaked before intermission.

At the Florence Gould Hall, just a two avenues away from The Plaza, my April 17, 2016 morning began. Parents, family, friends, and above all, children were ready to see New York Theatre Ballet's (NYTB) version of Cinderella at 11 AM. Many little girls were dressed to impress as the fairy tale character, while the boys were looking good in their Sunday best. For them, this would be animation come to life.
