The Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) and the Broadcast Television Journalists Association (BTJA) announced today the star-studded line up of presenters who will take the stage during the 24th Annual Critics' Choice Awards.  Previous #SeeHer Award recipient Viola Davis will present this year's honoree, Claire Foy, with her #SeeHer Award.  The cast of “The Big Bang Theory,” including Mayim Bialik, Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Jim Parsons, and Melissa Rauch will be on hand to recognize show creator Chuck Lorre with the Critics' Choice Creative Achievement Award, just in time to celebrate the show's final season.  Additional stars from some of this year's favorite films and television shows who will present throughout the evening include Awkwafina, Angela Bassett, Kristen Bell, Ted Danson, Nina Dobrev, Winston Duke, America Ferrera, Sara Gilbert, Josh Hutcherson, Stephan James, Jameela Jamil, Nicole Kidman, Joel Kinnaman, KiKi Layne, Eugene Levy, Justina Machado, Ricky Martin, Jeanine Mason, Chrissy Metz, Mandy Moore, Olivia Munn, Catherine O'Hara, Edgar Ramirez, Haley Lu Richardson, Sarah Silverman, Cole Sprouse, Ben Stiller, and Bradley Whitford.  They all join previously announced host Taye Diggs.

 The 30th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) announced that the festival's opening night will be the screening of All is True directed by Kenneth Branagh on Friday, January 4.  The festival will close with Ladies in Black, directed by Bruce Beresford on Sunday, January 13. The Festival will screen 223 films from 78 countries, including 48 premieres (4 World, 13 North American and 31 U.S.) from January 3-14, 2019.  The line-up includes a focus on cinema from France, India and Mexico, Premieres, Talking Pictures, Book to Screen, Special Presentations, FLOS: Foreign Language Oscar Submissions, Gay!La, Local Spotlight, Modern Masters, True Stories, World Cinema Now, a 30-film retrospective of selections from past festivals (free screenings sponsored by Desert Care Network and National Endowment for the Arts), and more.   

Kailua Onstage Arts continues its inaugural season with the disco-flavored Rolling the R's by acclaimed playwright, poet, and author, R. Zamora Linmark, based on his novel of the same name. Set in Kalihi in late '70s when teenagers read Teen Beat magazine, hung posters of Shaun Cassidy in their rooms, and boogied to the disco beat. Edgar Ramirez, a Kalihi teenager 'who looks like a Filipino John Travolta,' is gay and doesn't care about the taunts from his peers. Edgar and his friends, Katrina and Vicente, along with their classmates, dream, explore their sexuality, and struggle to define their ethnic identities in this surrealistic and gritty story.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the nominations for the 2019 Golden Globe Awards this morning. Ryan Murphy has taken to Twitter to announce that Taissa Farmiga, Gabourey Sidibe, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy and Stevie Nicks will be returning for American Horror Story: Apocalypse. This news comes not long after it was announced that Jessica Lange would also be returning to reprise her Murder House character, Constance Langdon.

Earlier today, American Horror Story shared a trailer for its latest installment, Apocalypse. The trailer comes not long after it was confirmed that Jessica Lange will return to the series in Apocalypse, in an episode that Sarah Paulson will direct.

Today, the American Horror Story social media accounts shared a new image revealing the highly-anticipated theme for the eighth season. The upcoming season has been confirmed to be a crossover between Murder House (season 1) and Coven (season 3). Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, Cheyenne Jackson, Billy Eichner, and newcomer Joan Collins are all set to star in the upcoming season. According to Variety, Jesse Plemons has joined the previously announced cast of Disney's live action JUNGLE CRUISE. The film is also set to star Dwayne Johnson, Emily Blunt, Edgar Ramirez and Jack Whitehall. Plemons will portray a villain. Read more about the casting news from Variety here!

The producer recently left his home at Fox for the biggest producer deal in television history with Netflix which has offered the producer $300 million to make the streaming giant his creative home.
