Digital Lottery Announced For DEAR EVAN HANSEN in Seattle

Described by the Los Angeles Times as a "cultural phenomenon," Dear Evan Hansen comes to Seattle's Paramount Theatre from January 23 through February 2. In advance of the start of performances, the production announced today that it will host a digital ticket lottery offering fans the chance to purchase a limited number of $25 tickets available per performance.

Inspired by the power struggle between the richest of the Oligarchs and an ambitious Vladimir Putin after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Lin (House of Cards) explores U.S. - Russia relations then and now. Directed by Jackson Gay, and by special arrangement with Robert Ahrens, Mickey Liddell and Michael Mills, Kleptocracy runs January 18 - February 24, 2019 in the Kreeger Theater.

DEAR EVAN HANSEN Breaks Box Office Record At San Francisco's Curran

The First National Tour of Dear Evan Hansen has broken the box office record for the highest-grossing week ever at San Francisco's Curran. For the week ending December 9, 2018, the production grossed $1.64 million despite only playing seven performances. This breaks the eight-performance week record previously set by The Book of Mormon in 2012. Dear Evan Hansen is playing at the Curran now through Sunday, December 30, 2018. 8th Annual Military Thanksgiving Dinner Announced For Today

Every year hundreds of D.C.-area military families must spend the Thanksgiving holiday away from loved ones. In gratitude for their service, Arena Stage is inviting wounded warriors, service men and women and their families to a complimentary dinner and performance of the musical comedy Anything Goes at the Mead Center for American Theater (1101 Sixth Street, SW) today, November 23. Since the first Military Thanksgiving in 2011, Arena Stage has served nearly 1,500 military members and their families with the annual event.

Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater will host its second annual Camp Arena Stage Open House on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Mead Center (1101 Sixth Street, SW). The day features sample activities and classes taught by camp staff and provides an opportunity for prospective campers and parents to experience a taste of Camp Arena Stage and have all their camp questions answered. The event is FREE and children ages 8-15 are welcome to participate in sample workshops and classes. No reservations are required.

Scholar, professor and public intellectual Amitai Etzioni typically curates and moderates a series of discussions focusing on topics and questions in today's headlines. However, the next Arena Civil Dialogue will be in celebration of Professor Etzioni's 90th birthday and will explore the role of community in our personal and collective future. The dialogue will be held in the Molly Smith Study at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater from 5:30-7 p.m. on Monday, January 14, 2019.

Throughout the past five years, Arena Stage has partnered with more than 100 participating organizations and served a combined total of nearly 8,000 community members by hosting regular career fairs.

Directed by Taye Diggs, with choreographer Jenny Parsinen, associate director Shannon Stoeke, and music and vocals by Madison McFerrin, the piece takes a raw and honest look at the limitations, stereotypes and obstacles that the world attempts to place on men of color through their discussions of love, race, education, family, and history.
