The Alliance of Alien Artists - an organization dedicated to helping emerging artists from other countries explore and succeed at having a career in America - primarily New York - has offered an agreement to actress & singer, Adi Schor. On the heels of AAA's well-received production of American Dream at the Duplex and Ms. Schor's own critical acclaim creating the role of Catherine in the play, Heaven Sent, written by Bambi Everson, Maya Avisar of AAA and Schor connected and now she is a repertory member part of projects-in-development through 2020!

The first show will be the London premiere of Dave Malloy's celebrated song cycle Ghost Quartet brought to life by the team behind the recent hit production of Sweeney Todd which won great acclaim in London and New York. Ghost Quartet will run alongside a packed roster of late-night and Sunday performances of cabaret, improv, jazz, comedy, classical music and poetry. WRITE OUT LOUD is a recipient of a grant of $15,000 to host the NEA Big Read in San Diego. An initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with Arts Midwest, the NEA Big Read broadens our understanding of our world, our communities, and ourselves through the joy of sharing a good book. WRITE OUT LOUD is one of 78 nonprofit organizations to receive an NEA Big Read grant to host a community reading program between September 2019 and June 2020. The NEA Big Read in San Diego will focus on A Small Story About the Sky by Alberto Rios.  Activities with students will begin in the fall and community wide events will take place through the month of April 2020, including a  student awards presentation of THE NEA BIG READ - Read Imagine Create featuring student projects inspired by the book.

The story of "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" has gone through many incarnations over the years: An American fairytale, a Broadway extravaganza, one of the first technicolor MGM movie musicals, and the 1989 West End holiday musical. Now, complete with dancing Munchkins and flying monkeys, Sierra Rep is delighted to present The Wizard of Oz this summer at the Historic Fallon House Theatre in Columbia State Park. The book is by John Kane, music by Harold Arlen and lyrics by E.Y. Harburg. It has additional background music by Herbert Stothart. It is based on the novel "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" by L. Frank Baum and the 1939 film version written by Noel Langley, Florence Ryerson and Edgar Allan Woolf. This production will be co-directed by Scott Viets and Jerry Lee, who previously teamed up for Holiday Jukebox and The Robber Bridegroom. The production sponsor is DSN Outdoor.

Following the huge success of their Dionysian dining experience Divine Proportions, Shotgun Carousel return to The Vaults with their new masquerade ball, Red Palace. A Gothic cabaret guided by an irresistible tale, this promenade immersive experience showcases cabaret, circus, dance and genre-defying performance. Gastro-storyteller and Masterchef semi-finalist Annie McKenzie will provide an exclusive menu for booked diners, subject to limited availability.

Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of a new comedy thriller, "Murder Too," by David Wiltse of Weston, former Westport Country Playhouse playwright-in-residence, on Monday, May 6, at 7 p.m. The cast includes Playhouse alumni David Beach, Joanna Gleason, Deirdre Madigan, and Andrew Veenstra. The reading will be directed by Anne Keefe, Playhouse associate artist and curator of the playreading series. Tickets are $20 each.

Chance Theater, Anaheim's official resident theater company, is pleased to present a staged reading of award-winning playwright John Glore's Creep. This staged reading is being directed by Artistic Director Oanh Nguyen as part of Chance Theater's OTR New Works Series. Creep will be presented for one night only on Wednesday, May 8 at 7:30pm at Chance Theater @ Bette Aitken theater arts Center on the Cripe Stage.

Amidst the flickering candlelight and foggy mist, the RT players will once again present LIVE ON STAGE a challenging repertory of the greatest of terrifying stories penned by the Master of The Macabre, Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849) who once lived but a few blocks away and attended this very church.

The Broad Stage continues their collaboration with Red Hen Press for their final event of the season, Red Hen Press: The Figure of Orpheus in Poetry and Performance on Sunday, April 28 in The Edye at The Broad Stage. Poets selected by Poetry Society of America Director Alice Quinn will perform contemporary poems on the Orphic theme. A film clip from Marcel Camus' Black Orpheus will be shown to represent the theme in cinema, and pianist Paul Barnes will captivate the audience with The Orphee Suite for Piano, his amazing transcription of Philip Glass's symphony Orphee for solo piano. This event is sponsored in partnership with The Poetry Society of America and Red Hen Press.

THE BIGOT, the new hot topic play by Gabi and Eva Mor that will have a full Off-Broadway run at the Theatre at St. Clement's  will have its first preview on (423 West 46th Street) April 26 - just two weeks away.
