The Drama League (Gabriel Stelian-Shanks, Executive Artistic Director) today announced the 2019 Drama League Awards Nominees for Outstanding Production of a Play, Outstanding Revival of a Play, Outstanding Production of a Musical, Outstanding Revival of a Musical, and the much-coveted Distinguished Performance Award. Just yesterday, Alex Brightman launched 'It's (Game) Showtime,' a live game show hosted by members of the BEETLEJUICE cast every Tuesday during preview performances outside the Winter Garden Theatre Box Office. 'It's (Game) Showtime!' is part of BEETLEJUICE's weekly lottery that opens at 5pm, and at 5:30pm, two lucky lottery entrants will be chosen to compete in 'It's (Game) Showtime!', a trivia game based on all things BEETLEJUICE. The winner gets a pair of tickets to that evening's performance of BEETLEJUICE on Broadway, and the runner-up has the chance to purchase two specially priced $33.33 tickets for the performance.
The Broadway transfer of Beetlejuice began previews on March 28th and is now on stage at the Winter Garden Theatre. This afternoon, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio stopped by the Broadway Theatre to celebrate the new King of Broadway, King Kong! After a special appearance at the curtain call, Mayor de Blasio joined the company outside for a ceremonial street re-naming.
