Stage Left Theater Announces Cast For MAN OF THE PEOPLE Beginning This Week

Stage Left Theatre has announced the cast for the upcoming production of MAN OF THE PEOPLE - a new play by Dolores Díaz and directed by Anna C. Bahow. The show is Díaz's anticipated new work since ZULEMA, produced by Goodman Theatre in 2021. Performances take place at Chicago Dramatists from October 19th through November 20th. 

En Garde Arts Launches Joan D. Firestone Fund for Mid-Career Theatre Artists

Longtime En Garde Arts Chairperson and board member Joan D. Firestone is being honored with the creation of a fund in her name. En Garde Arts has raised $100,000 through a group of generous donors. This is a five year endeavor and every year one theatre artist will receive an $18,000 award and will have full freedom with how to use the funds.

Fifth Annual Festival of Women's Plays to be Presented at the Ivoryton Playhouse This Month

The Ivoryton Playhouse's 2022 Ivoryton Women Playwrights Festival will be taking place on October 29th at 2pm. Over 200 plays from all over the country were submitted to the initiative and the four finalists will be traveling to Ivoryton from New York, California, Georgia and Virginia to have their work presented in a series of staged readings.

Pulitzer Prize Winner Charles Fuller Passes Away at 83

Charles Fuller, winner of the Pulitzer Prize for his acclaimed drama A Soldier’s Play and Oscar-nominated for his work on the film adaptation A Soldier’s Story, died of natural causes on Monday, October 3, 2022 in Toronto with his wife Claire Prieto-Fuller by his side.
