Photo Coverage: Judith Light and Tony Kushner Honored With DGF Madge Evans & Sidney Kingsley Awards

On Monday, March 18, DGF hosted a Salon at the Lambs Club where they presented actress Judith Light and playwright Tony Kushner with the DGF Madge Evans & Sidney Kingsley Awards. Former DGF Fellow, Oliver Houser, was also presented with the inaugural DGF Stephen Schwartz Award. The evening featured performances by Michael R. Jackson, James Jackson Jr., Sean Patrick Cameron, and Oliver Houser, and remarks by Jordan Roth, Jon Robin Baitz, and Stephen Schwartz.

Established to honor the best of playwriting and performing talent, the Madge Evans & Sidney Kingsley Awards reflect the importance of collaboration between actors and writers.

DGF also presented Oliver Houser as the first-ever recipient of their new Stephen Schwartz Award. This award includes a $10,000 grant given in unconditional support of Houser's music.

The Stephen Schwartz Award is an annual pledge to the future of musical theater. This award was created by producers Marc Platt, Nancy Rose, David Stone, and the Board of DGF in honor of Stephen Schwartz's incredible legacy of artistry and mentorship.
