Center Theatre Group has selected participants for the 2021-2022 L.A. Writers' Workshop, where local playwrights are invited to spend a year in residence at the company researching and writing new works with the feedback from artistic staff and their fellow writers.

Premiere Stages, the professional theatre company in residence at Kean University, is accepting submissions for the 17th annual Premiere Play Festival beginning Wednesday, September 1. 

The American Association of Community Theatre (AACT) is pleased to announce that Rover Dramawerks is producing the AACT NewPlayFest winning play, Proprioception by Marilyn Millstone. The world premiere will open September 10 and run through September 18, 2021 at the Cox Playhouse at 1520 K Ave, Plano, Texas. You will now have the chance to see the Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat as Performed by the Inmates of the Asylum of Charenton Under the Direction of the Marquis de Sade by Peter Weiss.

Based on the best-selling young adult novel of all time by S.E. HINTON, THE OUTSIDERS is streaming from March 5 – March 19 online. Tickets are $20 per person and are available online. THE OUTSIDERS (recommended for ages 12+) is from the book by S.E. HINTON; adapted by CHRISTOPER SERGEL.

Premiere Stages, the professional theatre company in residence at Kean University, has announced a new initiative a?" The Premiere Senior Endeavor Awards- a new playwriting competition for New Jersey based writers that offers cash awards and benefits in three categories. The project will be part of the 2020 Premiere Play Festival- Premiere Stages' acclaimed new play development program that provides readings, workshops and full productions to regional playwrights as part of each season.

The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati (TCT) has been awarded The Sara Spencer Child Drama Award, by The Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC). The award recognizes the work of an individual or organization for dynamic and engaging work for young people. Nominees can excel in such areas as playwriting, performance, audience development, curriculum development, funding, scholarship, community programs, research, television programming, creative drama or other enrichment programs at their community, state, regional or national level.
