Premiere Stages, the professional theatre company in residence at Kean University, has announced a new initiative a?" The Premiere Senior Endeavor Awards- a new playwriting competition for New Jersey based writers that offers cash awards and benefits in three categories. The project will be part of the 2020 Premiere Play Festival- Premiere Stages' acclaimed new play development program that provides readings, workshops and full productions to regional playwrights as part of each season.

The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati (TCT) has been awarded The Sara Spencer Child Drama Award, by The Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC). The award recognizes the work of an individual or organization for dynamic and engaging work for young people. Nominees can excel in such areas as playwriting, performance, audience development, curriculum development, funding, scholarship, community programs, research, television programming, creative drama or other enrichment programs at their community, state, regional or national level.

Tacoma Little Theatre and the American Association of Community Theatre (AACT) are pleased to present the AACT NewPlayFest winning play, Shattering by Pat Montley. The American Association of Community Theatre and The Sauk, Hillsdale County's Community Theatre, are pleased to announce the cast of the AACT NewPlayFest winning play, On Pine Knoll Street by Mark Cornell. Laguna Playhouse a?oeTheatre For A New Generationa?? brings back I NEVER SAW ANOTHER BUTTERFLY by Celeste Raspanti and directed by Donna Inglima. This powerful and important play returns to the Playhouse as the country, (and Orange County), sees a dramatic rise in the number of Anti-Semitic acts of hatred.  I NEVER SAW ANOTHER BUTTERFLY will perform beginning Saturday, October 19 through Sunday, October 27 at the Laguna Playhouse, 606 Laguna Canyon Drive in Laguna Beach.

The fundraising event will honor Cicely Tyson with ArtsEmerson's inaugural Decade Award which will be presented every ten years to an artist that best represents the goals of ArtsEmerson for a performance in the preceding decade. Cicely Tyson reprised her Tony Award-winning performance as the feisty and funny Carrie Watts in Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Horton Foote's beloved American classic The Trip to Bountiful at ArtsEmerson in 2014.
