PlayFest Santa Barbara Festival Announces 2018 Events

PlayFest Santa Barbara, in partnership with the Santa Barbara Public Library, and with the support of a Community Arts Grant from the City of Santa Barbara and Santa Barbara County Office of Arts and Culture, presents the Sixth Annual Festival of New Plays. The staged reading of Steve Karp's Honoree Play, REUNION, will take place in the Santa Barbara Central Library on March 10 at 7p.m. REUNION was selected as the 2018 Honoree play following an international competition. E. Bonnie Lewis and Ken Gilbert of DramaDogs will perform the roles of He and She. Maggie Mixsell of Speaking of Stories, will narrate. Anna Jensen, former Ensemble Theatre dramaturge and current co-host of Theatrixsb podcast, will moderate a post reading talkback between the audience and the playwright. The reading is free.

This production of The Hobbit is a dramatized version of the book by J.R.R. Tolkien, author of the Lord of the Rings books which are also a popular movie trilogy by Director Peter Jackson.

Randy Noojin Returns To North Coast Rep For Solo Show SEEGER

North Coast Repertory Theatre is proud to welcome back Randy Noojin, as he takes the stage as America's beloved folksinger/activist, Pete Seeger, January 29, 2018. SEEGER is a multimedia, solo show that uses Seeger's signature songs including: If I Had a Hammer, Turn, Turn, Turn, Where Have All the Flowers Gone, Bring 'Em Home, We Shall Overcome, and Guantanamera, to tell the story of his personal struggles for free speech in America.

SEEGER Starring Randy Noojin Comes to the Eisemann Center

Eisemann Center Presents SEEGER, a multimedia solo show written and performed by Randy Noojin at the Eisemann Center, 2351 Performance Drive in Richardson, Texas on Saturday, February 2, 2018 at 7:30 pm. This show is part of Spotlight Artists shows, starring Randy Noojin, who appeared in Hard Travelin' with Woody at the Eisemann Center in 2016.

ROSEMARY AND TIME to Receive New York City Premiere

Award-winning playwright and published author Jennifer Fell Hayes, mesmerizing new play, Rosemary and Time is set to run at the Paradise Factory Main Stage February 2 through February 17, 2018. The limited run is directed by long time collaborator, Kathy Gail MacGowan who has worked extensively in Off and Off-Off Broadway theatre.

Pegasus Theatre Company Announces Cast for the Return of SHAKIN' THE MESS OUTTA MISERY

Pegasus Theatre Chicago is proud to announce the first production in its 2017 2018 season, Legacies, Shakin' the Mess Outta Misery, written by Shay Youngblood and directed by Pegasus Theatre Chicago's Producing Artistic Director Ilesa Duncan, with music direction by Shawn Wallace and choreography by Nicole Clarke-Springer, November 8 December 10, at Chicago Dramatists, 773 N. San Diego Rep Announces Cast of BLACK PEARL SINGS!

San Diego Repertory Theatre (San Diego REP) has announced details for the fourth production of its 42nd season, Black Pearl Sings! This intimate play with music, from playwright Frank Higgins, will be helmed by Thomas W. Jones II. Black Pearl Sings! begins on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 and plays through Sunday, December 17, 2017 with an opening night on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 7 p.m. in the Lyceum Space Theatre at San Diego REP in Horton Plaza.

Mosaic Announces Full 2017 VOICES FROM A CHANGING MIDDLE EAST Festival Lineup

Mosaic Theater Company of DC presents the culmination of its expansive and hugely successful second season with the 2017 Voices From a Changing Middle East Festival. This year's festival is of particular resonance in this 50th year since the Six Day War and the start of The Occupation, and focuses on two taut dramas about the lives, circumstances, and humanity of Palestinians in Israel and Gaza.

Festival Ballet Providence presents the premiere of a multi-media adaptation of one of the best loved stories and most popular children's books ever published. The Little Prince, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's charming interplanetary adventure is the newest installment in its wildly popular chatterBOXtheatre series for young audiences. The ballet will continue on the next two weekends, April 2-April 9, 2017 in its Black Box Theatre, 825 Hope Street, Providence, RI. This exciting production has been adapted and choreographed by Boyko Dossev, also a company dancer; it incorporates music from composer Maxime Goulet, narration by local storyteller Valerie Tutson, original stop-motion animation by FBP dancers Ty Parmenter and Jacob Hoover, scenery from WaterFire Providence, Viktor Plotnikov, and others. The chatterBOXtheatre series is sponsored by Seven Stars Bakery.
